  1. Good luck on your journey and I hope your recovery is going well . Remember sip sip sip. I had to learn that always having something to drink with you at all times helps you get your fluids in. I had my surgery 8/25/17 two weeks out from my surgery I dealt with bad dehydration.

  3. Hi Shay, wow you are here in Tallahassee also. Have you had your surgery or in the process?
  4. Yes it is because besides my neurosurgeon my GI doctor is there too. I didn't have a choice of the brain shunt I started losing my eye sight and was the only thing to save it. Weight lose didn't help me. Congratulations on the weight you've lose so far. That's good you have family here to help you. I have some family here.

  6. Oh wow. Well at least you don't have worry about getting on the road for 3 hour ride after your surgery. Plus follow up appointments. My neurosurgeon is in Gainesville also.my neurologist is here in Tallahassee .I had my second brain shunt put in 2013. I will keep you in my prayers. With your health condition. I've been here in Tallahassee for 20 years now. I moved here when I got married. ( now divorced)

  8. Yes it's nice seeing someone from our area too because you are the first person I've seen . One of the reasons I had my surgery in Gainesville was because I have lupus and one my doctor in Gainesville referred me to having the surgery. Everyday is better than the day before . Because it was rough after my surgery. My issue was pain, but I was drink pretty good afterwards. Since this pass Wednesday it has been really good finally was able to get my pain under control. I started the next stage yesterday . But this surgery affects everyone differently because I know two people and they didn't have any pain after surgery. But I hope your journey goes very well. We should keep in touch .

  11. Hi, I also live in Tallahassee . I just had my surgery in Gainesville. Are you having your surgery in Tallahassee or Gainesville ? How are you doing on your liquid diet ?
  12. I had my surgery on 8/25 and I'm still dealing with pain and gas pain. I got some Gas x chewable it helping with the gas pain . I notice everyday I feel better than the day before . I hope you feel better soon.

  14. My surgery was 8/25 while I was in the hospital they had all my meds turned into liquid . I also take Gabapentin . Now I'm crushing my meds only one my meds was able to be turned into liquid at home. My issue is pain pain from surgery and gas pain . I'm taking gas x now for that .I've always been able to drink and everyday it gets better and better.
  15. My surgery day was rough too I had asked my doctor could I stay a extra day because I live 3 hours away and plus due to my health I have lupus and fibromyalgia . The next day I was thinking I don't see how they send anyone home the next day have the sleeve and two days after the bypass. That's just to much pain and what all the body goes through .
  16. Hi I hope you start feeling better. I had surgery on Friday 8/25 I'm still in pain and having issues with gas pain as well. But I have been getting my fluids in and today I was able to finish a whole bottle of protein shake. Besides drinking water and G2 gatorade.
  17. Hey how's your recovery coming along? I had my surgery on 8/25 still in a lot pain . I'm able to drink well. Water, G2 gatorade and protein shakes are my friends. Lol
  18. My surgery date was 8/25 that was a rough day. Each day better and better. I'm able to hold down fluids . Got discharged yesterday . My only issue now is that I have to stay on top of my pain medicine. So far so good.
  19. Everyday I feel better and better. Surgery day was very rough. I got discharged yesterday . I never had a issue with drinking so far. I just have to remind myself to sip.
  20. Congratulations ,my surgery is also tomorrow and it's funny I lost 11lbs too on my liquid diet. I have to be at the hospital at 8:15 am. Good luck to you and everyone else who's having their surgery on tomorrow.
  21. Hi Everyone , when I first was filling out paperwork with my surgeon in the beginning he had an agreement that you had to sign. After your surgery you have commit to a year-long of series of appointments. I got a letter in the mail with my year long appointments with my surgeon and my nutritionist. Then it all became real!! I'm having my surgery in the morning 8/25 this has been a long 7 months. Not nervous anymore ready to start my Journey. I've lost 11lbs on my liquid diet. Yay me.
  22. Good to know you are not in a lot pain. But I hope the gas pain goes away. My surgery is Friday I've been so busy that I haven't had chance to get nervous don't know if that's good thing or not.
  23. I'm having my surgery Aug 25. I'm on my two week liquid diet now. When I was doing everything on my check list I was so excited , but when I went to pre op on 8/8 it all became real. My first day of my liquid diet was very hard. I'm taking it one day at time now and it's getting better. I'm finally starting to feel how did in the begin excited.
