  2. I think the emotions are not only the pain but residual effects of anesthesia as well. Glad you are doing better today!

  4. Same here!! The pain is slowly going away. My nurse said that women usually handle the recover better since many of us have been through the pain of having babies. This is nothing compared to my c sections

  6. Hope everyone did well!! I am sore but pain levels are manageable. A bit naesaus when I sip water. Do also repaired a hiatal hernia while in there, so that is one of the more painful areas. Hoping to go home today...

  14. Best of luck Biddynz! I do agree part of it might be stress related. I am traveling all next week for work, so I need to bring all my shakes, etc with me. It also doesn't help that each evening I am expected to join networking events, which will be horrendous on this liquid diet. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like I am losing my mind

  16. Hi all-- I am on day 6 of my 2 week pre op liquid diet. I am a Normally stable person but the past 2 days I am an emotional mess. Crying over stupid things, etc. is this normal? Are my hormones all out of wack because of the liquid diet??

  20. @megamedic691 how is liquid diet going?? You are halfway done with it!
  21. How is the 2 week going? I start a 2 week liquid diet on Monday and I'm nervous as hell! My surgery is dec 18
  22. I am having mine on December 18th. Excited and nervous at the same time!
  23. Finally have a date!!! Woohooo! Dec 18th I will be sleeved. I plan on traveling by car to see my family for Christmas (I will rest comfortable in the passenger side as my husband drives). This is assuming no complications and I feel up for it. Other than stopping frequently to get out and walk, and liquids, I am a bit worried. Anyone else getting sleeved mid month and planning Christmas festivities still?!
  24. I am currently in month 5 of my 6 month program before my doctor submit's for insurance approval, and I am starting to get anxious. I have UHC, and they require 5 consecutive years of a BMI >40. Well, in 2015 I was breastfeeding and lost a ton of weight, bringing my BMI down to 35. I gained it all back in 2016. I am so worried that I am going to get denied. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

  27. Thanks everyone for the comments, it really does make me feel better. I think Robin=Sleeve Hopeful summed it up nicely-- I have been a success in most things in life but weight loss. I have a great job, a wonderful husband and family, etc etc etc. I am a truly blessed person. The one thing that I have failed at (for the past 20 or so years) is losing weight and maintaining my health.

  29. Hello-- My name is Christina. I am a 34 year old mother, wife, daughter, friend, and coworker who lives in Michigan. For the past 28 or so years, I have struggled with my weight. I have been embarrassed by it, limited by it, and protected by it. Now, enough is enough. About 2 months ago I started down the journey of VSG. I am almost half way done with my "prep" work, and if all goes as planned I will be having surgery by year end, I feel awkward and embarrassed about this whole process. Hopefully I am not alone!
