Really stupid things people have shared with you
My niece, who is 15 and extremely intelligent, was flipping through a magazine while talking to me. She came across a picure of Elton John and said, "You know its just so sad that he is blind." I asked her what she was talking about. She looked at me just as serious as she could be and began to explain to me that it was obvious that he was blind by the way that he dressed and that with as much money as he has surely he could afford to hire someone with better taste. She looks at me and says, "Its just so sad to see people with disabilities be mistreated."

Just banded, feeling very bloated
Step away from the scales!! I did the whole weighing my self daily and just about went insane & got so discouraged. I finally decided once a week would be suficient, but that didn't last long. So, I used jeans to measure if I had lost weight or not. When I got into a new size, I'd weigh myself. I care more about what I look like in my jeans than what is on my scales anyway.

Dating: People now interested after your weight loss that knew you before
I've had this happen to me several times and although I'm flattered, my self esteem has grown to the point of I know I can do better than somebody who is hung up on outward apperances. Of course, I just politely turn them down but don't tell them why.

Back from MX yesterday...banded 1/19
I haven't had any problem and I live in North Louisiana. If i don't have any problem here, you shouldn't have problem else where. Fills in my area have been anywhere from $150-$450. Fills with flouro run higher but have been worth it.

lap band done 2/11/06
I went through the same thing. The 2-3 weeks before my 1st fill I was paniced. I just knew I would be one of the ones the band wouldn't work on or that something was wrong with my band. I've since had two fills and am doing great with my band. Hang in there!

do I have enough restriction or not?
I got my band on 11/18/05 also. I really struggled not to gain weight after my first fill. When I went to get my 2nd fill, my doctor said everything was just "running straight through." She put in some more and I have wonderful restriction now. Having restriction makes it a whole lot easier to eat healthy and the weight is coming off much easier.

1st fill yesterday
Way to go!!

How should we get rid of the Girl Scout Cookies?
If you know someone in the service, send them overseas. I have a friend in Iraq and they love to get them. It's a little piece of home!

Hello from Louisiana
All of my cuts are right in between my waistband and my bra. My port is to the left of my bellybutton. Wear loose clothing because you'll be swollen and a little sore. So far I wouldn't change a thing!

So thaaaaats what restriction feels like!
I go for my first fill today. I am so excited, but also a little nervous. I am petrified of needles. I was also wondering how the doctor decides how much to fill?
