Well... for our first weigh in I managed to gain 1.8 . It's been TOM and I have not been as careful eating as I should. Wow!!! Thanks for sharing. Yep, that seroma is quite big (and if anyone knows seromas, it's me ) The whole thing looks painful, but I can see a wonderful flat tummy there!!!! Well worth it, I'm sure! :tongue2:

Yep, I really liked it. She must cruise through a LOT of blogs to find one she likes. Wonder how she found mine?

Has anyone ever seen the weight loss surgery channel online? My blog was featured on it this week. That is kind of a thrill to me. If anyone is interested, the link is: http://ow.ly/p0gZ It seems to be a very informative channel, I think I will check it out weekly.

Oh, man. Sorry about that. At least the doctor is right on top of it. That is my biggest fear once I have my TT (down the road). I have had a hernia repair twice and both times have gotten an infected seroma. Hoping yours heals soon with no problems. Has he mentioned putting a drain in it?? As if you need another drain, I know, but that's how my first one healed.

What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Hmmmmm.... there are so many things. Where should I start? About 15 years ago I was dating via the personal ads. There was one guy I arranged to meet at a restauraunt. We met outside. When I introduced myself he got a strange look on his face and said "Sorry, you're too big for me"then turned and walked away. a-hole. I never lied. I always made sure guys knew I was a "big girl". Plus.... he wasn't all that skinny himself. The thing that made my final decision for lapband?? I had my then 4 year old daughter at McDonalds Playplace. This brat about 10 or so kept coming up to me and asking me why I was so fat?? Then she tried to karate kick me in the belly. All this in front of my daughter. The thing that still hurts the most?? About 25 years ago I was friends with this guy named Steve. We were together all the time if we weren't at work or college, we were together on the phone. I knew I was just the nice fat girl who was his friend, but I still thought out friendship meant something. He had a crush on my younger, thin sister, but that didn't bug me cuz we were friends. Last year a friend of ours passed away, and I called to tell him. I said this is Julie W...... from years ago. His reply? "Oh, yeah, Sheilas sister" I still want to cry thinking about it. :cursing:

Being Honest
I went back to the beginning of this thread and read it thorugh. So many of the posters could have been me. I have been suffering with the same self destructive issues. I went into this whole thing (banding) with open eyes. No one lied to me, no one told me it would be easy. Yet I still expect it to be easy. I still expect the weight just to magically disappear. I still expect that I can eat what I want (just a lot smaller portions) and I will lose. Guess what??? It's not happening. Big suprise, huh? Someone (in an earlier post) said she was afraid to lose weight. I honestly believe this is a big part of my problem. I have been closer to 300+ than 200 pounds for at least 15 years. I would diet and get near 200. Then I would get scared and start gaining again. I am seriously contemplating going to see a psychologist. I need to find out why I have this "mental block" to losing weight. I know I just need to get on the program. I need to follow my diet, I need to exercise. I need to accept that I am the one responsible for weight loss (or the lack of it). I need to want this enough to do what I need to do. I need to be totally honest with myself....

Mmmmmm.. chocolate covered bacon. Was it as good as it sounds?? I saw that on the news last night and it sounded great. The bacon flavored ice cream with bacon bits?? Not so much. The thought of that just grossed me out. I have decided to skip the school meeting (bad, bad mommy) and go to RR tonight. What time are you planning on being there?? Looking forward to meeting up tonight with whoever is coming.

No weight loss... but a gain of .6 to report. I am not too sad about it though.... I still did over 12 pounds in the challenge  Dee--- :hurray: Woohoo for you, :hurray: you are just awesome. You are losing so well. I wish I had half the will to do as well as you do. I just can't seem to get it into my head yet that this is WORK. Even after a year I just want the weight to magically fall off without any effort on my part... and it is not happening, darn it!!!! I'm open to another challenge any time anyone else is. I really want to lose 20 more before I go to MI (Thanksgiving week) that gives me a little over 2 months. I just need to get off my butt and ex-er-cise. I have been relying on my really, really, really tight band to get the job done. :blush2: Now I need to get real and get moving!!!! Any words of wisdom anyone???

Dee---- You'll get a kick out of this. I was reading posts earlier and Kayleigh pointed to your picture and said "that's you, right?" She was so suprised when I told her it was "Miss Dee" and not me.

And their sizes are so freakin weird. A blue 7 fit me so much better than a yellow 8 (which were quite tight). :sneaky: Go figure.....

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
I can't figure those sizes out either! I got a pair of the Lane Bryant Right Fit Jeans - size 3! BUT now they are too big! I'm trying to find the receipt so that I can return them! I would be happy to get a size two. I really liked the way my butt looked! Ha! 90 days til my surgery! Yippie! Wow.... a size 2. Great for you. Once you have your surgery shopping at LB will be a thing in the past for you :sneaky: I know you are excited for it..... heck, I am excited for your surgery. Can't wait to see how absolutely fab-u-lous you look

That whould be great... and soooo appreciated. I went to Catherines today and hit the Clearance rack. Got a pair of jeans for a decent price. The ones that are too big for me are a 9 Red. These are actually a 7 Blue (if you know anything at all about the crazy numbering system at Catherines/Lane Bryant) And adding to that.... they are actually a petite. I have NEVER worn a petite before. I think my legs have gotten shorter!!!! The chart there said a 7 is comparable to a 24. I didn't believe that. I still can't squeeze my big belly into a 26, let alone a 24!!!! I asked the girl at the store and she said that chart is off. (I would say wayyyyy off). Still dreaming of the day I can get into a "real" size 7!!! :tt1:

Actually I meant before Red Robin (sorry for being unclear :blushing:), though I may have to take you up on when you get home on Tuesday instead. Not sure if I am going to be able to make it to RR. I got an email from the PTCO saying there was a community meeting that night. I am torn. I really want to make RR, because I feel it does me a world of good coming to these meetings, but I really should do the mommy thing and go to this meeting. They are teaching the "everyday math" thingy. (as if "new math" wasn't enough when we were kids) I'll update as to what I am going to do after I make up my mind.
