  1. I'm 6 months out & never a problem at all. No slime, PB, gas, nothing but weight loss.
  2. Way to go! Third ain't bad at all. Congrats!
  3. I vote for #2 and good luck here in Big-D.
  4. Hey!! You're as old as me now!! Happy 50 to you!! Hope you have 50 more.
  5. I asked about this very thing before & again after surgery. I was told they cover you up with sheets the areas they aren't working on. Funny the things we worry about. You know everyone in the OR has seen it before, but still!
  6. I will be there & possibly bring my sister.
  7. Great! I just took 1 capsule with warm water (didn't have anything else handy) and all is well so far. Thanks.
  8. I know I read something recently but my search skills must be lacking. I need to take some capsules that are sort of a soft gel with liquid inside. They are kind of big & I'm afraid they will get stuck so I've been poking a hole in them & squeezing the liquid out. It tastes yucky  so looking for ideas of what to try.
  9. Sounds good to me. I'll try to make it. Will let you know for sure.
  10. Tex-Mex and Starbucks mocha. mmmmmmmmmm
  11. We ARE a good lookin' bunch aren't we? Thanks Randy, was nice to finally meet you & Joy.
  12. Glad I found this thread. I just realized I do feel "something" after eating about a cup of food. No, it's not what I would call full but I'm going to try to stop & wait & see if I am still hungry. I never thought of it quite this way. I have just been eating more & more till I get my old full feeling & even though I'm losing, I'm sure I'm eating way too much. Good advice, thanks.
  13. I am shocked EVERY time I pass a mirror. I'll just be going along minding my own business thinking I'm still this skinny little thing & then damn it, I pass a mirror & someone else is there. A big old fat lady. In my mind I'm still young too. Young & skinny. Darn those mirrors! I'm really afraid that even if I reach my goal weight I'll still have my double chins & lumps & bumps & wrinkles. But we'll see. Maybe this will all work out. Just gotta keep on trying.
  14. Janet, not sure I want to witness that! Hey was fun meeting y'all. Any day is OK with me. Time preference is 1PM or later. Hope to see you again soon.
  15. I had 1 week of low-fat liquids pre-op. Was hard, but not too hard. I drank 2 or 3 Slim Fasts plus broths every day. Also, I drank a lot of buttermilk to get away from sweet tastes. Lost 10 lbs that have stayed off & jump started the other 15 or so since then. Plus an easy & fast surgery & recovery, no gas pains at all. And a lovely liver too. I was also amazed that just 1 week could shrink a liver, but Dr Jay assured me it can make a big diference. Good luck & hang in there!
  16. Janet, I answered just now on the new thread.
  17. I voted for any day except April 1 cause will be in Dr. Jay's office getting my 2nd fill that day. I got new tires & a new headlight on my truck so I'm all set. Heck, I even got insurance now! 1:00 or 1:30 is a great time for me since I work late (& sleep late), but if the vote goes for earlier I'll try to drag myself out of the sack. Can I come in my PJ's? Oh wait, Mikey might be there, better not. Can't wait to see y'all.
  18. Yes this helps. I'm still learning how to manuver around here.
  19. Kare, Believe it or not, I too have had my jaws wired shut! Was due to some surgery on my jaws & was wired shut for 9 weeks. I used to get gravy from KFC & mix it with milk & drink it. Got sooooo tired of juices & shakes & sweet stuff. Once at work I grabbed some ketchup & mustard packets from my co-worker's bag from a burger place & just sucked the stuff out of the packets. And I answered phone calls from customers on my job. I was able to talk after about 2 weeks of practice. Oh, what memories. I used to drink a lot back then & went to bars & drank beer with a straw.
  20. Thanks both of you. I've just been feeling a bit blue. And I totally blame myself. I knew it was not just an easy way out, that I still have to work at it. But I guess in the back of my mind, I thought I would be different somehow & would get the perfect restriction the 1st time. I'll try to be more realistic. myband, it sounds like it took several months for you. Ok, I'll be patient & try harder. Thanks again for the support.
  21. :help: I guess I thought I'd be the perfect bandster. But sad to say I'm struggling hard. Haven't gained much back, 3-4 lbs but still... I have the large band & no idea how much fill he put in. No restriction. And I'm testing it every day. I know, I know. No need to push it just to see how much I can stuff in there. But I do. Hungry all the time just like before banded. Have my 2nd fill scheduled April 1st, maybe will get restriction then. Getting depressed & really fed up with myself. I just can't stop eating. There's not a chance I've slipped is there? I hope not. Maybe tomorrow I'll get back on track & start eating right & exercising again. :cry :phanvan :angry :angry :angry :angry
  22. I'm thinking about it. Very iffy, though would sure like to meet y'all. I work evenings & 11am is a bit early for me & I live on the east side of dallas. If I don't make it, maybe next time. Have fun!
  23. I would check out the doctor's other qualifications. How long has he been doing surgery in general, laproscopic surgery, other WLS, etc. Personally, I would prefer a bit more experience. Asking if another surgeon will be assisting sounds like a good idea too. Good luck!
  24. OK Dawg, I know there's at least 2 of us that used Dr. Jayaseelan!
  25. Yes dears, joking! I had to search & search to find this thread...hehehe
