  3. I had my Loop Duodenal Switch surgery on May 18. It's been a great journey so far. Your right the Ghrelin Hormone is the one that tells you that your hungry & that is removed, and for me, I'm having a tough time remembering to eat 3 meals a day. I'm on purée foods & it's good so far, except eating enough. Hang in there, and GOOD LUCK on your surgery, I'm sure you'll do great!!!
  4. First of all...congratulations on your upcoming surgery!!! I think your feelings are normal when you receive that call or when the Dr gives you your surgery DATE. I know for me, I was super excited that I finally had a date. You then received a call from the hospital(pre registering) & she tells you about having to go to pre-op, and then BAMMMM, it's a few days away. Yikes, the nerves get running & running, a bit scary too. Actually, the morning of surgery it all became surreal. Coming out of recovery was tough because of the pain, but tolerable as you have a pain med pump. After getting out of the hospital, it didn't seem real, that I actually had my surgery, but the journey has been great so far. Sorry for rambling, but I wish you luck & pray all goes well for you!!!
  5. My surgery was 4/18/17, and I seem to not be eating or drinking enough. I was doing well with the liquid diet, but doctor said I could start eating purée/soft foods, but I don't feel satisfied at times, and I start to hurt after about 15 minutes into my meal, so I wait for the pain to subside to continue with my food & then I'm full. I am also having a hard time eating the 3 meals & 2 protein shakes, along with my water intake. I haven't journaled at all and am wondering if that could be part of my problem. I am just feeling well enough to start exercising & thought that would help too. Has anyone been in my situation so early on???
