  1. I was RNY on 5/8/17 Accountabilibuddies!
  2. I'm not a sleever, but I think this is still relevant. In my 20s I wasn't emotionally ready yet. I wasn't ready to make the big sacrifice and commit to the program. I wasn't mature enough yet. I had to go through some dieting experiences and have the big 'aha' moments first. I think I could have gotten it done in my 20s had I wanted it bad enough, but I didn't. I wasn't ready for the commitment and the sacrifice.
  3. Having the option of tracking a single bite of something. I don't know how many grams or ounces is in the average bite of food. I too use MFP because of the huge database.
  4. I've been using straws the past week and no issues. I don't see what all the fuss is about, but maybe not everyone can use them as easily as I can.
  5. I'm up three pounds today from a week ago, despite eating an average of 800 Val's a day. I should stop weighing daily. It's maddening.
  6. Life saver in the hospital: dry mouth spray!!!!!! The worst part of post-op for me was the thirst.
  7. I'm May 8th now btw. Surgeon has to reschedule :/
  8. Yay! I'd love to have a local buddy I can meet up with in person!
  9. That's because everyone these days has a M.D. from Google and Very Strong Opinions[emoji769]. I'm only going to tell people I regularly eat or drink with because I will soon be unable to eat or drink that way.
  10. I like Skin Tight because it's people closer to my weight at their start. My 600 lb life is harder for me to relate to.
  11. Glad to hear you're feeling better already!
  12. I got a Mirena for a few reasons unrelated to surgery, but it turned out to be a even better idea once I found out I wouldn't be allowed to take the pill for a year after surgery. Implantation was... unpleasant... but it's been great since. I've spotted a tiny bit a couple times. If you decide to do a hormonal IUD, this is probably it. Ask your doctor about getting a cervical block during implementation.
  13. Thanks, cat woman! Crazy as it sounds, I like the idea of having the threat of dumping as it acts as a natural incentive to avoid too many carbs and fats. I desire that limitation. I'm hoping my stomach stays small for life as it will be easier to maintain that way.
  14. Premier protein are my favorite. Chocolate and vanilla are the best flavors.
  15. May 1st RNY 32/f/Colorado
  16. Do you still feel the restriction in your stomach? My biggest concern is stretching.
  17. Also, are most people on here sleevers? It seems like there's a ton of sleeve threads, and not as many RNY threads.
  18. I don't eat peeps - not my bag. However, blowing them up in the microwave is great fun! 30 second cycle; they get huge then quickly deflate. Fun for the whole family.
  19. I think I should link up with you guys as I'm May 1st and all the May surgeries on here so far are later in the month! 32/f/Colorado
  20. Good for you! I've considered surgery on and off for years, and I think I resisted in the past because I wasn't ready for the lifetime changes. My journey here was rather quick. My grandma passed away this summer and she struggled with her weight all her life. She actually reached goal right before she died of a stroke. Recently, my grandpa had a dream where she told him to give me the money for surgery, and he extended the generous offer. I feel like my weight loss will be in honor of her memory.
  21. I suppose 5 lbs a week through the end of the year for me is a stretch goal, but I hope to be 210 by my birthday on December 19th. I'm tall at 5'9".
