  1. CLOTHING! I have always been heavy but most of my weight gain is more recent. I really look forward to fitting into some of my old clothes. I have donated a lot of smaller things but there are quite a few pieces I kept. I also had to buy some bigger clothing throughout the year to hold me over. I can't wait to donate it all! And although it's always a struggle in the clothing stores, I can not wait for the day I no longer need to find the "plus size" section (or should I say the few racks shoved in the corner with no signage).

  3. My gastro will be doing an endoscopy on me tomorrow. Sounds wonderful. Not too thrilled with being put down. It's my first time going under. I really hope I don't end up as a viral youtube video! HAHA!

  7. Horrible, I know exactly what you mean. My husband is very loose with the "fat" comments. And my grandma who raised me hates anyone who is fat (honestly I think she has a body image issue). I love her so much and she may be losing her memory but sure remembers me saying casually I was starting a new diet and reminding me of it. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Same boat! I was at the max last time I flew. I never want to have to ask for that seat belt extender. My surgery will be 2 months before my next flight. Fingers crossed lol Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. You win!! HAHAHAHA if I have to ruin one more Christmas or event photo with my large body I'm just going to scream. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. YESS every time I walk into Target I will see something cute but I know better to not even try they have a few racks, in the back, pushed in the corner, behind maternity, no signs of course, where they have a few plus size items. Talk about depressing. Never the same stuff seen on display. And half the time maternity is mixed in the rack. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I was worried I was going to sound selfish lol. I battle my closet every. Dang. Day. Even with my bigger clothes. It's such a struggle. Especially with warmer weather and less clothes to hide under, I hate it. I miss the days of a simple top and jeans. There are so many things I look forward to, I'm loving all these replies! But to not have to go to war with my closet would be amazing! Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. YES! UGH if I don't naturally lose my double chin I will just have to go under the knife. I never had double chin issues until now and it is so awful. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. YES!!! I miss this so much. Although, crossing your legs is bad lol. I still miss it. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Looking for Surgery Support Kik group

I would love this!! I'm set up for surgery in May. My last prereq appointment is tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. This will be the hardest part for me lol. Carbs and sugar; everything else will be missed of course but my coffee... that will be very hard for me. My nutritionist said a month, I will need to follow what ever my surgeon says too of course. I don't care for carbonated drinks, so I'm fine there. I may just need to try to use decaf as much as possible :/ Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    First time anesthesia tomorrow!

Thank you all! It was fine very easy peasy. I felt so chatty and confident when I woke up. It was wonderful. I wish they told me it was twilight lol, my Grandma had that for her caterats. She had it good!!! I was just glad I didn't do anything embarrassing. I was chatty but I'm super sure the nurses are used to that. My neighbors didn't feel the same. Maybe I got lucky haha. 17. I'm in the same boat (lol no pun intended). I'm being sleeved hopefully late May, I'm traveling to DR June 19th. Surgeon said I will be fine to travel! I did some research and many people have traveled right after surgery. I think the 2 months will be more than enough to travel. I'm not going to over eat, get plenty of water and avoid alcohol. Maybe a sip of champagne (it's a family wedding lol). But I should be healed enough for the pool and have energy Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. My gastro did an endoscopy on me on Friday. All went well but he did mention he took a few biopsies.... um, of what?? [emoji17] he said he would send the paper work over for surgery and all and also would call me if something "comes back" on the biopsies. Is this normal? Did I have something going on? I was still out of it from the anesthesia to question him. Im not freaking out or anything but it's itching me.
  19. I have told some and there are some I will not be telling. It took me a little while to not feel like guilty. I haven't been sleeved yet but I have been making it clear that I've started an "intense diet" with a new doctor and it's going to be great (kinda hyping it up lol). If anyone asks I will go that way "strict diet, lots of shakes and protein, exercise and under doctor supervision, etc".

How many weeks to request off

I'm only a nursing student but the fluids is absolutely scaring me. In class is fine but in the hospital I highly doubt they will let me carry around a water bottle and I have no idea how often I will get a break. I'm going to figure it out no matter what lol. Even if I have to conceal a container under my scrubs!

    Water every 15 minutes???

Thank you so much for the reply! I think my biggest issue is I chug too much. I really need to break that habit before surgery lol.
  23. My nutritionist said I had to drink (well sip) water every 15 minutes after surgery [emoji50]... when I asked how long I will have to do this for?? I dont know if I heard her right, but I got the impression she meant forever! [emoji54] I'm fine with carrying around a water bottle all day, I usually do and think we all should! But, as a nursing student, there will be times I can't just have a water bottle with me.... I will figure it out either way even if I have to conceal a water bottle or something in my bra lol. I just imagine it will be really hard to get that 15 minute sip in.... Am I screwed?

    Water every 15 minutes???

Oh whew! Thank you for your reply. of all things to be nervous about, I chose the sipping water part ha! I just had dinner with someone I know who is a year post op and she was able to drink so much in a only a few hours. I feel much better

    Water every 15 minutes???

Oh ouch!! Kidney stones are no joke!! Thank you so much for your reply. I was worried I wouldn't be able to do more than a sip or so, that scares me. I had my gastro appt today and he did explain the stomach does allow you to hold more over time. I think my nerves are just getting the best of me
