  1. I think for me the new habits I am working on establishing have to be something I really want to do and then it takes time. I think it takes longer than the three weeks that you hear everyone repeat. Great article.
  2. I thought it would be interesting to look up the fat and cholesterol levels of some commonly eaten animal meats. Amazing how much is in only 2 oz. I think I will stick with my nuts and seeds, which have zero cholesterol: Chicken breast 2 oz TF- 2g SF- 1g Cholest- 86mg Ground Beef 2 oz TF- 10.4g SF- 4.2 Cholest- 49mg Ribeye Steak 2 oz TF- 9g SF- 3g Cholest- 44mg Pork Chops 2 oz TF- 8.2g SF- 3g Cholest- 44mg 1 Large Egg TF- 4.5g SF- 1.5g Cholest-185mg
  3. I would love to hear from everyone about how they are doing. I will try and post some photos also.
  4. You are welcome. I always measure out my portions when I am eating nuts/seeds because it is very easy to eat too many. I eat 2 portions about 2oz per day several days per week.
  5. It is a snack that I would eat occasionally because of the fat content. It is healthy because the fats are coming from the coconut, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds. The sugar content is about at my max at 6g. Because my overall diet is low in fats a treat every now and then works. Most nuts and seeds are high in fat, but they are still very nutritious for us to eat as long as we are careful with the portions. P.S. Here is a link explaining the health beneifts of eating nuts and seeds. It has a table listing the fat, sat fat content of several types of nuts/seeds. https://navs-online.org/articles/nuts-seeds/
  6. We had Thai curry again tonight. I made it with the red paste this time. Yummy ?
  7. Some people develop lactose intolerance after WLS. It sounds like you are just getting nausea with it though and not cramping loose stools. Eggs made me sick for a while and dense meats were hard to eat at 1 moth post-op. I think you just have to experiment and see what sits well with your stomach.
  8. I like them both. I am kind of partial to curls and easy... if I had to blow dry and style my hair everyday it would never get done..lol...
  9. I did 16.5 miles last week.
  10. I think I’m still losing some, but with how much I have I don’t think anyone notices. Except maybe my dh cause he always says my hair gets all over the bathroom lol. You should try the short cut. If you don’t like it then you just have to wait for it to grow out. I tried short once or twice and I didn’t like not being able to pull it back, like you said. I have settled on shoulder length. If you do it post some photos?.
  11. OMG... that man can eat. I loved the video. It really shows the variety of delicious foods that can be enjoyed on a vegan/WFPB diet!!! Save me a place for the move..lol
  12. Ok I had to make @Newme17 banana oatmeal cookies today. I experimented a little and this is what I came up with. 4 ripe bananas 2.5 cups oatmeal 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk raisins walnuts I cooked them for 15-20 at 350. my dh has been devouring them. They turned out super yummy.
  13. I am almost 5 months post-op. For the first 3 months I followed a protein first low carb style diet. I have been eating a mostly WFPB diet for the past 2 months. I can eat 4-6oz depending on what I am eating. I try to eat 1200 calories a day because I run 5 days a week and I need the fuel. I feel great eating this way and I am only 3.5 pounds from my goal.
  14. I have got to make a few of these sweet potato recipes y'all been posting..lol.. they look so good. Summer came back today and my dh is asking for his monthly salmon dinner, so I guess I will please him tonight.
  15. Yes, those two are so cute the way they fuss with each other. I always tell my dh whenever it's a country singer, "you know they gonna pick Blake" lol
  16. YESSSSS lol.. this is crazy.. Who is your favorite coach? Miley drives me nuts sometimes with all her talking.. I loved Pharrell and also Shakira. This season I am really liking Jennifer Hudson.
  17. And while you’re at it add a few spoonfuls of ground flax seed to your morning protein shake or smoothie. They are a superfood and a great addition.
  18. That is my favorite Pandora station lol ? I even got my daughter listening to my stuff, though she is more late nineties early 2000. Do you watch the Voice? I admit I like to watch that show and I even got my dh watching with me. ?
  19. What is your favorite genre? For me it depends on my mood. Sometimes Christian, country, old pop, old rock, some hip hop (if I want to get my groove on..lol) my dh likes some hispanic stuff (salsa) so he got me into it. 80's music brings me back to my high school years. I graduated in 85. I guess I like a little of everything, but no gangster rap or crazy punk rock stuff..lol..
  20. I can't run without my music...I mean I could but then it is more like work.. We are doing this @Newme17 and it feels good huh? Almost 5 months post op and I think everyone in our group is under 200.
  21. Free Falling was one of my favorites. So sad
  22. ??? Congrats to you @Newme17 I am so happy for you.
