  1. I am the day after- keep us posted and yay!
  2. I had six visits which included my initial doctor's visit. Started in March. Had my endoscopy, psych eval and Dietician meeting. Was a week off because of Harvey so ended up submitting Sept 6 to insurance (originally would have been Aug 29th). Got approval insurance Sept 12th and got my surgery date at Oct 19th today. My pre-op is Oct 6th:)
  3. I finally have my official date of Oct 19th. I go in for pre-op two weeks before on the 6th. So exactly one month from today I will be starting my new life! Woop!
  4. My plan is to work out while I am losing. I have worried about this as well. I am a lower BMI so i am going to do weights while losing to help with muscle mass. I worry about my face, upper arms and tummy.
  5. How long did it take the doctors office to give you a surgery date after you were approved? I am still waiting on a date and was approved last Thursday!
  6. I have been taking the Vitamin D. I am looking for small bowls, a food scale and doing a lot (more) research for my first couple of weeks post-op. Lots of You Tube videos and Pinterest! I figure I will start doing taste testing once I get closer to my date next month. I am not a protein shake fan at all so I am not looking forward to that part!
  7. I hope it gets better for you. ?
  8. Mine was based on my weight at my first visit. I had 35 with co-morbidities and my coordinator told me it was best to not dip to be in the safe side. So I had to keep with a pound of my first weigh in for 6 months. Couldn't lose or gain more than a pound. I ended up losing a pound and stayed at 35 and was approved.
  9. Update! I got approved! My doctors office left me a message on a Thursday saying I was good to go. I just got it today because I didn't check my phone!
  10. I got my approval!!! I am so excited! I had been calling the insurance to check on it every day since it was submitted and then got busy at the end of this week- well I just looked at my phone and saw that I had a message and it was my coordinator who left me a message on Thursday telling me I was approved! She said the scheduler will call me within 5 days to schedule my date!!
  11. I have four kids at home as well and my husband is the same way- he will want to the right there with me the whole time and it isn't me asking him. I was the same way when he had surgery a few years ago- I slept on a cot 8 months pregnant because I didn't want to leave him alone. I will make him go home though. The hospital that I will be having the surgery has a seasoned staff in their recovery floor and I can convince him I am in good hands.
  12. I am still waiting too. I call them every other day
  13. Are you having a hiatal hernia repair too? I am and the recovery eating is the same as our food plan. So my thoughts are I will still be on puree at Thanksgiving (and smaller which can be explained by not being able to eat solids since my hernia surgery). Then come Christmas I can say that I am eating smaller portions because it still bothers me and I want to keep the weight that I loss off from the surgery. It is a shame I plotted it out this far....... I just don;t want to ruin Christmas!!! lol
  14. Mine was submitted last week on Tuesday and I still so not have an answer. I have checked everyday! Finally one of the reps took my phone number and said she would keep an eye out and let me know when the status changed. She told me to expect it around the 19th. Too long! I have BC Anthem (out of California). I wish I had these quick ones like other folks!!
  15. I my husband and children know and one close friend who has had the sleeve. As a matter of fact I just went through this big ordeal of how to hide the surgery over the holidays. I just don't want to listen to it. Once I have to come out and tell them that I did something I will. I have already decided I will let them all know that it was a personal decision and it was hard enough making the decision without having to hear everyone's opinions and horror stories.
  16. We are making it! So many people are displaced - it's terrible. Now we are all praying for Florida. I hate hurricane season. Hate it!
  17. Houston, TX Dr Todd Wilson Memorial Herman Oct 16th (tentative) just waiting on insurance approval!
  18. I just went through Harvey and was stuck in my house for over a week. I lost weight! I had my last weigh in canceled because of the storm so I just went yesterday. I just knew I had gained but surprisingly I didn't. I usually eat my way through a hurricane but I just kept reminding myself about that weigh in and made it! You will be fine:)
  19. I called today and they said it was with RN review.
