Just a question, are you sure they were dumped? Could they have both gotten out of their yard and went running? Have you checked with your local shelters and police to see if anyone reported them missing?

I do the same thing. You'd be surprised how many people on other Lap Band boards I annoy because of this very thing. Many of them say I'm over thinking it and they say "Just do it already".

I have that too, but for me it's Costocondritis. It was so bad once (and I was not diagnosed) that I took myself to the ER and was in for 3 days getting my heart checked out.

My story is too long, sad and convoluted to get into detail, as it stretches through years. But I will shorten it to say that 2 of my brothers and both my stepsons who got into heavy drugs (heroin, cocain, LSD, etc) all say it started with smoking pot and they say they feel it does lead to other drug use. Only two of them are recovered. One began using pot again and it quickly escalated to using the other drugs. One of them is still a heroin addict. All 4 of them, their lives are in shambles and only 2 feel they can recover any of it. All of them say if they had tough love early on, it would have saved them. They also feel smoking pot makes you just not care, and is off limits to any addictive person trying to be sober. From the horse's mouth.

Thanks Susan, I'll look into it for sure. For some reason, no matter what brand or kind I drink I feel sick after drinking it.

Hi all, I'm pre-band here but one thing I have noticed is that those who are not eating very much are also not losing very much. I'm of the firm belief that you have to eat to keep your metabolism revved up.

Thanks for posting this. It answered some questions I had too. Hey Vinesqueen, I have PCOS too. In fact, my endocronologist who treats me for it is the one who suggested this surgery. Which is how I got started.

That makes complete sense. Do you have any suggestions on a high quality protien for those who are lactose intolerant?

I'm upset to hear abou he soy, because I just bought two big containers of it. The whey irritates my stomach and irritable bowel. Is there any other alternative? p.s. Is there a protien drink out there that DOESN'T give you gas? :-p

I've been lucky enough to have seen everyone on my list live but the classical composers (I'm not 400 years old...but I'm working on it!) and Led Zeppelin.

A bag of pot in my area can go for $200 or more. I don't think that's cheap. Regardless, it isn't the point, if the guy has the extra money to spend on getting high, he's got the extra money to get his family their own place. That was my point. Yea, I'm a "tough-love" type. I understand your position, I have zero tolerance for it too. Plus, pot is VERY expensive, so I would be very pissed that they are spending their money on it while living with you. Having said that, I would give them time to find a place. Because of the baby it's the right thing to do. But choose a date they know they have to be out by and stick to it. Don't give them too-too long,(I think 2 weeks would be tops in my book) the guy has to feel the consequences of his disrespect and drug use. Good luck. p.s. I hate drugs. It has to have layers of sound for me. That seems to always catch me. Many layers within the music. SO I pretty much run Soup to nuts if it has that. My tastes are very eclectic. It ranges from from New Age, Darkwave and Industrial,Ambient, Goth, classic rock, classical, blues. Except for country and 80's metal bands, I never really got into that. Like Dawg I like Prodigy and Delirium too. and then a host of independent bands usually from Europe. All time forever favs are Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Gary Numan, U2, Duran Duran, Loreena Mckinnett, Vilvaldi, Debussy, Albinioni.

Reading your post, my heart really goes out to you Jonathan. You aren't by chance, the same guy who's wife posted on another forum about this very thing, are you? I remember several months back, maybe 8, a woman came on saying her husband was still in the hospitla after banding because he couldn't keep his own saliva down. I couldn't help but think. "Crap, if he had only had a different surgeon" and "Why didn't he give him something to stop vomiting," etc But it is what it is now, and I'm sorry you had this happen to you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

That's horrible. SOmetimes I feel like an alien because I just don't understand a human heart and mind capable of that. It's against the law to dump an animal, so if you know who did it, you can report it to your local SPCA and police. It sounds like it's someone in the area who knows you would take them in. I wonder how would a person know if they were allergic to their band? What would be going on?
