  1. I have kept the surgery a secret from my father and that side of my family. The reason is, when I went to talk to him about it, he flipped out and was very rude. I just decided to keep him out of the loop. My Granny (his mom) knows. She is my biggest supporter.
  2. I sometimes will weigh my food. I do it more when I am cooking my own meals or having home made food. I find that outside food, I eat until I feel that first pressure (10 small bites). Then I am done.
  3. Thats amazing, My job is on the second floor, however you have to walk up 4 flights before you make it to the second floor. I will walk up and down as well. I figured since I have to wait for approval for the gym, why not get the exercise in when you can.
  4. Congratulations!! You will learn so much.
  5. My boyfriend became distant right before surgery. I really thought that he would not show up the day of it. He ended up being there before I got there. He apologized for being insecure about what would happened and while I waited for my turn, we spent that time just talking. Now, he is the most supportive. I believe I drive him up the wall with my constant talking about it and how I feel. However, he will listen. When we go out, his eyes light up when I look at the healthier options. He laughs when I say okay, I am full. He thinks it's the cutest thing, when I ask for a kids menu (IDK WHY). He even got us YMCA memberships because he knows I love swimming and he thinks that would be great for arm and leg toning.
  6. Hey, I have UHC in NYC. I was sleeved March 26. I made a post back then regarding some of the requirements that I had. I posted the link below:
  7. Thank you for the information. I ended up just getting some soups from panera bread.
  8. Hey, that works! At least you have some alternatives. Its about keeping your options open. Never put all your eggs in basket, as my mother said.
  9. Greetings!!! I am in my soft food stage and I would like to know if we can have smart one dinners. The ones with chicken and turkey, gravy and mash potatoes. I would really like to get some but I want to make sure that it is considered a soft food option. Also, does any one have any recipes other than eggs, tuna and Beans? Thank you very much.
  10. That could work. You should try plenty of fish. Also if you back a few pages, I believe her name was Anne. She was interested in getting to know you more but you were too busy thinking about your co-worker. Maybe you should try talking to her. You may have things in common.
  11. Unfortunately, it is very hard with the dating sites. I used to think they were cool but after dating and meeting multiple douches and idiots on there, I dialed back my activeness to find someone. I really started focusing on myself. I think once you stop searching, that is when people start noticing.
  12. That is insane. I honestly hate dating websites. Majority on them seems to be interested in one thing and one type of person. It sucks that the responses are not coming in. Maybe you should just act like you do not care. It's when you are not looking that you find what you have been waiting for.
  13. If it goes well, give it about 2 weeks of consistent talking. Once the two weeks is up, say hey do you think we could get some coffee one day? I would really like to hang out with you and get to know you more.
  14. That's awesome. Well Charm her but keep your options open.
  15. Whatever the explaination, is unacceptable. There is nothing that he can say that will change my mind. I do not understand how he prefers me big when all he would talk about is the things we would be able to do and how much time I am adding to my time with him. I have not even gone through any hormone changes and all ready he is distant. Whatever, there are more fish in the sea lol
  16. Those sound like some kind of nutty people lol. I am so sorry. Yeah I would say take a break. All these women are not the best choice for you.
  17. I never thought I would say it but my bf is now distant from me. He has not spoken to me since 3/25 the day before surgery. It is now the 3/28 and still no response. All the talk and bs that he was spilling about caring and wanting to be there was a waste of time. I have decided to not waste anymore time on him as right now is about me and my healing. Sometimes we have to let things go and stop dealing with the nonsense of insecure men.
  18. Wow that many and not a response? Hmm. You may have to wait it out for now. Give it about a week and then try again. Sometimes we look at things and want things a little to hard. Good things come to those who wait.
  19. Okay so she comes off really strong lol. You also have to understand that she has been treated badly by men on the online dating scene. Maybe she is nice but she doesn't want to deal with the nonsense.
  20. @sgc LOL I am soo sorry. Why don't you like her? What is wrong with her ? Does she have the crazy girl look in her eye. You know the one that looks like she would sit in the bushes outside of your house or sneak in while your out and wear your clothes? Also, you never know she may be the one.
  21. Congratulations on your surgery Monday!!! I started in July. I cannot believe it is March 2017 already. Time has flown bye. Back then I thought 6 months is going to take forever LOL
  22. My surgery is tomorrow at 10am. I am soo excited, I cannot wait. I am restless, yet nervous. My new life starts tomorrow. I cannot believe how fast it has come!!!
  23. I have never paid less than $60 on my bras. Because I have a huge back and wide shoulders, I have myself measured and just get the discounts at the boutiques when they have a sale. The best place I have seen to have great bras with support are Victoria Secrets. They normally have deals like 2 for $25 or something like that. I am used to Ashley Stewarts bras and the boutique stores in Lower Manhattan. Once I am able to fit into her, Vicki Secs will be my go shop. lol
  24. I agree. I would prefer that the surgeons agree on what will happen during the pre-op diets. I get so confused as to how there are a thousand different diets yet the full liquid diet is the one that you hear about the most. I just would like for them to call an international conference and say, "Hey, we may need to figure out this liquid diet and how it will work. Should we torture our patients with the liquid diet or could we a little nice and allow them to eat some food at least one meal." I think they enjoy watching the torment. I think your surgeon like most surgeons have a god complex. It is like, I have your life in my hands and therefore I control what can and cannot happen. They know that we cannot go to another place because our insurance will only cover so much lab work and no one ever wants to start over in this process. He sounds like a serious douche bag as well. The very first surgeon I saw in NYC, was a complete ass. He was like you are too young, you are being lazy and I do not work on people your age. You millennials need to stop whining and lose weight the right way. I left with my mouth wide open and shocked that I was spoken to in that way. I was like the fuck!!!
  25. I have the runny BM ever since starting my Liquid Pre-op diet. My doctor says that it is normal because we are not getting enough fiber right now and are living off of liquids. Once you start getting in soft foods it should start slowing down. Just make sure that you are drinking lots of water to prevent dehydration.
