  1. I had the same issue in the beginning. I had to put crystal light packages in my water. It made it a bit easier to tolerate, however I see you can't drink that lol. I had trouble with the syrupy aspect of it. I watered it down a bit. I also made fruit water. Just having some of the flavor from whatever fruit I added helped. My favorite was/is blackberrys and raspberry. I would just sit it in the fridge overnight. Then I would sit it out before I drank it to get to room temperature. I also would drink out of a shot glass. Sounds weird but knowing I had to drink out of that thing helped me for some reason. Lol. I'm 5 months post OP and now I can drink water with no issues. I'm not sure if any of this helps at all. If it doesn't... then I'm sorry... I tried lol.

    Buddies Group - Surgery Dec 4 to 15, 2017

Same here!! I had surgery Dec 4th and I started at 274 and yesterday I weighed in at 227. So I am down 47 pounds as well! It's insane! I feel amazing but I still have a hard time seeing the weight loss. However for now I feel it and I know my clothing has gotten a bit smaller. So I'm cool with that lol. 47 pounds is amazing!!! Kudos on all of your accomplishment! All of you!

    Pain free?

Hello all. I was curious on how long it took for you to be pain free? I was 3 weeks out on Christmas Day and I still have moments of pain in my big incision site. (The one my stomach came out of). My surgery was December 4th and things have been great but the pain is a bit breath taking sometimes. Is this normal? The 2 people I know that have had a biatric surgery said they were pain free in a week... but here I am on week 3. I don’t feel like I’m a wuss but here I am.. complaining lol. Any insight?

    Pain free?

That’s exactly how it feels. A “catching” feeling. It’s not constant at all it just had me worried that something is/was wrong. I’d like to say today my pain is far less. It’s subsided a lot. Thank the lord!

    Pain free?

Oh thank you!! That makes me feel 100% better. That’s exactly where I hurt. Sitting down sometimes hurts and those certain bends get me hurting. I’m so glad you commented!! I’ll try the ice pack!!
  8. Hey guys and gals! I need some help lol. I am having my gastric sleeve this coming Monday, December 4th. I am on the clear liquid diet right now. I realized I grabbed jello with sugar on accident. I thought I grabbed the sugar-free Jello. Oops. With that being said I've eaten it before I realized what it was. Is this a huge deal? I'm so nervous that I just messed all of this up.... does anyone know if the Jello I have is a problem? Should I send my husband out to get the right stuff? I suck at life sometimes lol.
  9. Okay thank you!! I was having a panic moment there lol. I only had that bit but now I'm headed to get the sugar free.

  15. Hello all!! I've never really posted on here before. I am usually pretty quiet but oh my goodness gracious. That's all I can say, lol. Has anyone had an ABG test done before? I feel like I'm pretty tough but that wasn't comfortable at all and that's all I can say about it. Lol. Was yours just as rough and uncomfortable as mine or am I just a pansy? Sheew buddy. Haha. I'm so glad this was my second to last test. Now onto my sleep study and phyc eval... then onto a surgery date. Fingers crossed. 🤞 Praying for sometime in late October. Ps. I truly don't want to scare anyone if you have to get one done. That's not my goal at all. It sucked but totally worth the end goal. Healthy.
  16. Oh my word. I'm so sorry for you. 2x daily?? I feel for you. I really do.
  17. They draw blood from an arterie rather than a vein. It's supposed to let them know how much CO2 and Oxygen I have in your body among with some other things... like PH balance or something like that. Please excuse me for not being educated enough on it. Lol. I just knew it had to be done so I did it.
  18. They said they needed to do it because of a medication I have been on for 5 years... Diamox. It's for my Pseudo tumor Cerebri. I honestly have no clue why other than that lol.
  19. My fingers are crossed. I had an appt with my surgeon today. I still have a couple more things to mark off my to do list but they are thinking late October. I hope I get to join in with you all. [emoji7] I'm so ready to be healthy and not hurt.
  20. Amazing job!!! I can't wait to get this point. Still awaiting my surgery date..... ever so patiently lol. [emoji7] Best of luck my dear! Your doing a fantastic job and you look amazing.

My journey as a 16 year old.

What an amazing soul you are Adrianna. I know you do not know me but I am so proud of you. So proud. I hope you are proud of yourself because you should be. You are 16 years old and today you gave me someone to look up to at nearly 30 years old. I just completed my 6 month review with my nutritionist and I now am able to meet with the nurse practioner (July 26, then go to seminar on Aug 14th. Then I can meet with the surgeons and get a date for surgery. Fingers crossed.). As you can see I still have no idea how long I have until surgery but you give me the faith and the strength to carry on and not give up. You are awesome Adrianna. Thank you for giving me the mind to never ever give up and keep pushing forward. XOXO. I'm looking forward to hearing about your amazing success in the future. You have a bright one ahead of you! 23. Painting my toe nails!!! Wearing shorts. Wearing overalls! (Sounds crazy but I've always wanted to wear bibs... but I can't pull off the look heavy). Getting off my medication. Having a chance to start a family.

  25. Hello guys and gals! I'm super new to this forum and this is my first time posting. I just yesterday confirmed with my neurologist and my nutritionist that this is the road I indeed want/need to take to get myself healthy. I have been heavy my entire life. I dont remember a time when I wasn't. I was working with a trainer and nutritionist trying my best to get healthy and in 2012 I was diagnosed with Psuedotumor cerebri and my world kind of flipped on an axis and life got real. I was managing better and started working with a trainer again and I hurt my back in 2013 (I have degenerative disc disease.. which in turn resulted into a herniatied disc, a bulged disc and I have 2 bones spurs resting oh so dearly on my sciatic nerve), I then tore the tendons out of my arch in my left foot in 2014, cracked a rib in 2015, and in 2016, I had the honor of getting my self to awesome pair heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. I'm literally just a ball of injuring myself lol. I'm a hot mess really. For now, 2017 is treating me well and I truly hope I didn't speak to soon. (To be continued on that lol) With all jokes aside, I got married September of 2016 to an amazing man that has been by my side through all of this and we are ready for that next step, a family of our very own. When we started talking to the Dr's about getting pregnant and battling psuedotumor cerebri I felt my heart stutter a little bit. The medication I'm on to control my PTC can cause birth defects. Then I was told my back injury won't likely do well with a pregnancy and the added weight. So I just felt so discouraged. I've had surgery on my mind for sometime now, maybe since 2014, and I never had the guts to do it until now. I am 29 years old, still young, yet I'm hearing that time clock tick away. Without boring you all with this novel I'm forming here (lol), has anyone had the sleeve done and successfully carried a child years later? They say it can be done 18 months out (preferably), but I think I'll feel better knowing that there is someone out there that has fought for it and has had a baby post sleeve. I know no matter what health wise this is kind of my last option without giving up all hope. I'm ready to fight for this. I must get healthy and I can't wait to feel healthy again. I must do this for not only me, but my husband and any of our future children (birthed by me and/or adopted). So with all that being said, any knowledge would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. You are all such an inspiration and just know that this forum and all of you help make this journey 100% better. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using the BariatricPal App
