  1. I was banded by Dr. Sanchez in Mexico and I feel pretty secure. No problems 3 months out, we'll see at 2 years. Erosion is a 1-3% percent chance for ANYONE. It is just statistically a chance. The scary thing is when poeple banded by ONE particular doctor seem to skew the statistics. Then you need to worry.
  2. Wow, my first thought reading that was that it is not magic. I still have insulin resistance, I still have PCOS,I still have a screwed up metabolism... I am still losing slowly. There is no "magic pill" and never has been. This is hard work, but it DOES help all the effort work. If she thinks this is the easy way, yes, it is easy for some. For some it is the "EDGE" they always needed. It is still hard work and effort for most.
  3. Since your fear concerned coming out of anesthesia I can respond. I was very afraid of that also. Your chances of not coming out of surgery are less than slim, but we all worry about that. It is normal. You will be fine.

Superbowl Sunday breakfast- protein drink lunch- low carb tortilla with ham and skim mozerella rolled up Will be taking a crockpot of teriaki meatballs to the party later. I figure 3-4 meatballs and something off the veggie tray should do me for supper. The alcohol is a different story. Taking a bottle of Merlot with me, empty calories but oh-so-good. Yeah right~~~I ate so much crap today. chips and dip, brisket, beans, tortilla chips and guacamole, etc... Gotta getta grip tomorrow.

My closest friend also got the Pure Hoodia brand and says she takes 2 in the morning and it really kills her hunger completely. (she is not banded) She said she wont even take the next dose because she doesnt need it, that it just kills her appetite and doesnt make her jittery or anything. Maybe it depends on the brand and the exact ingredients? Or maybe it just works for some and not others, like so many other things. I ordered some and am waiting for it to get here. I hope it continues to give you an edge La Madam.
  7. Junior high teacher. Tough age, but I love my students.
  8. I am taking a crockpot with sweet and sour meatballs to the party we are going to. At least I will have something that I can eat guilt free!
  9. I had a glass of wine after 2 weeks. Actually I had 3!!! I had no problems but be careful, it seems like I get tipsy on much less now.
  10. Bread is a big NO for me. I can actually handle a tortilla, but bread has caused me the absolute worst pain and PB several times, and I just dont even attempt to eat it anymore. French fries were bad the only time I tried them. I dont need the empty calories or carbs anyway so I just stay away from bread and fries.

Friday Did pretty good. They had bisquits and sausage for breakfast so I ate a piece of sausage and had an Atkins protien drink. Threw the bisquit away. We took a group of students on a field trip to the movies and they had pizza delivered to the park. One of the aids went and picked up chicken for some of us. I had most of a breast and 3-4 bites of cole slaw. Gave the bisquit and mashed potatoes away. Volunteered to serve at the lodge tonite. Stuck around and had drinks afterwards. I drank 4-5 glasses of Chardonnay. Had half a bowl of bean and bacon soup and a few bites of leftover chicken for supper when we got home. Saturday Woke up at 7 and drank an Atkins drink. I am lazy about drinking those instead of eating something, and they really arent filling.....I just want to break the habit of skipping breakfast and they are convenient. About 10 now and ate the rest of the bowl of soup. I hope to eat a good lunch and supper today. A little hungover feeling, too much wine last night. I am sure I am a little dehydrated I have drank about 3 glasses of water already.

  15. Reeses makes the mini Peanut Butter cups in SUGAR FREE!!!! I have tried them, they are good. I grabbed a bag from the Dollar General, they were only $2, which is worth it for a treat. Nykee, did you ever get that blood work done? I have been curious and wondering how you were feeling. Great idea to keep a food log, maybe it will help you see if there are areas you would be willing to tweak. Good luck with your latest fill.
  16. What a cutie pie! I like odd names for pets. My dog is Nosey, but we usually call her MuttButt. One of my friends named her dog Kujo, hilarious when she calls for "Kujo" and in bounces a fluffy 5 lb. miniature Pomeranian.
  17. I didnt stop smoking before the surgery and had no complications related to smoking. I would like to quit now though. With so much focus on improving my health it just seems STUPID to keep smoking now!
  18. Do they make a DDD of that?
  19. YES.......it is nice to hear successes!
  20. Ccracking up at Jachut!! Post after pics!! I am jealous!
  21. I have to reply.......I have been banded since the very very end of October. The 20 lbs has been slow since 10 0f them were in the first month. The other 10 have taken 2 months.

Okay, I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 210......it has been 212-214 for so long that I dont trust it. All of January was 214ish and finally broke and went to 213-212. I am skeptical that I can lose 2.5 lbs in 2 days, yet I have been having a cycle of no lbs lost for about 2 weeks and then down 2. Still going slow. breakfast....protien drink lunch.....ordered a salad at school and added some leftover chicken supper....went out, some chili and 3 margaritas
