Gastric Sleeve Help - Not restricting
I tell you I can't wait for this time to go by quickly.. eating three or four bites of food is so depressing. I find myself stressing every morning as to what on earth am I going to eat today... honestly feel the medical team who approve Patients for this surgery fail to properly prepare us for what is coming, specifically the mental health aspect of this process. The only thing keeping me sane is the fact so many of you guys have reassured me it will get better and with time will be able to eat more normal like with time. It's going to be a long year for me.. Still crave food.. get hungry less then two hours after I took my few bites.. please tell me this is temporary

Gastric Sleeve Help - Not restricting
That is so strange.. I am post 6 weeks and can barely eat 4 bites of anything.. As for drinking water!.. loved water prior to surgery.. can't stand it now because it taste like lead. Do I get hungry... YES.. but am basically living on oatmeal.. soups.. eggs.. some fruit and Snapple Peach Diet.. I can't tolerate anything else. I am down 47 pds. So I can't imagine what is going on with your sleeve.. but don't get discouraged.... stay focused.

Trying to decide
You should reconsider having this Surgeon for your procedure. This is not an easy fix and there will be a lot of ups / downs post surgery. If you research the sleeve .. stick to it. I am post op 6 weeks with the sleeve and it's been very hard. Can't imagine having a procedure that will have more risk in regards to my recovery.

Post op depression, is there such thing?
I don't really eat carbs.. so not sure why the hunger comes back so quickly. I do incorporate snacks .. cheese .. nuts.. Maybe the hunger is also cause beause I only take two or three bites of whatever I am eating so basically there's nothing to totally sustain me until my next meal.. OMG the mornings are the worst.. Get up feeling like haven't eaten in days..

Post op depression, is there such thing?
I see my doctor next week and will let him know. I know limited foods won't kill me but it's about the nutrients I need for energy that concern me. I am already doing my protein drinks.. fluids.

Post op depression, is there such thing?
I too am feeling better overall.. no longer have horrible pain from the inflammation throughout my body,.. can walk without gasping for air..and feel better about myself overall.. But my issues at this point in the process is that I cannot tolerate a lot of the food I should be eating at this point. Everyone tells me it will get better but If I am not eating how am I going to progress to were I need to be,. Am I just expecting to much at post 6 weeks.. ! Living off fruits.. Soups.. oatmeal.. eggs.. fluids.. nuts and some cheese.. That is all I can tolerate at this point. I recognize this is what is causing my depression.. regrets.. I am lost and don't know what to do!

Thank you for your feedback.. I pray everyday this will get better because for all of us who embarked on this journey our purpose was to become healthier.. All I want is to be able to nourish my body so I can regain my strength and be able to exercise. For whoever is thinking about having this journey.. This is very hard... its permanent and you can't take it back. So unless your ready to completely give up all the foods your use to eating everyday for EVER!.. think about very carefully. ..

Post op depression, is there such thing?
I am 6 weeks post Sleeve and I can totally relate to everything you are feeling. Before I decided to move forward with this surgery I thought I had done my homework and got feedback from others who had done the surgery. But no one could have prepared me for this. There are many a days where I regret this decision and wish I could turn back the clock. I tell myself why didn't I try something else..etc. Feeling cheated,..deprived and horrible feelings of hunger and thirst. At this point I am suppose to be introducing solids, but I can't seem to eat anything.. chicken .. tuna fish .. eggs none appeal to me. So I am living off fruit .. soup.. oatmeal.. protein drinks occasional thin fat free ham . Many tell me it will get better.. I cry a lot.. wonder if I will ever enjoy a meal again even in smaller portions. Can anyone tell us.. DOES THIS GET BETTER!.. If so .. how long post surgery... My reasons for having it done was also to get healthy.. was almost 300 pds.. but at this point I am weak.. exhausted with no energy.. I feel like my body is being starve... Nothing I try eating appeals to me .. two bites and its over. Can't even tolerate water which I loved to drink all day long.. HELP..

I miss fooood
I know that feeling... I am 3 weeks post surgery and have been having second thoughts about if this was the right thing to do. My dietician instructed me to start eating chicken, tuna ..eggs.. etc. But I have no desire to eat anything. I find myself forcing myself to eat a few bites just for the Protein. Have done the Protein shakes to a point I can't even look at them. Everyone I have spoken to whose had this surgery said the first few weeks are the worst and it will be better. My fears are I will never enjoy a meal again. Do we ever get our taste buds back.. do we ever enjoy a simple meal again...even small bites. Not in a good place.. Have lost 40 pounds but feel extremely weak .. tired. Can someone tell me it will get better...
