My surgery was performed at Howard University Hospital (HUH) in Washington, DC. I kept my hospital gown on because it was very comfortable and walked in socks hospital provided. Ariat. . . You are absolutely beautiful. This surgery is for YOU. Although easily said than done, do NOT focus on the opinions and thoughts of others. NONE OF THEM HAS EVER WALKED IN YOUR SHOES AND NEVER WILL. Ask yourself what were the "naysayers" doing through all of your previous health issues, trial, & tribulations other than run their mouths??? You have the opportunity to take control of YOUR life!! I go to first follow up appointment with surgeon today. My experience has been positive with very minimal discomfort (no pain). Highest weight: 300 lbs Current Weight: 280 lbs Hospital didn't weigh me before surgery, which is fine with me. I'm focusing on the present and future. I, too, am a rule follower. Your wife is taking a serious risk eating unauthorized foods that maybe detremential to her health!! If she's already doing her own thing, this surgery will not be successful in helping her lose the weight. This is only a tool to give us a jumpstart. If she doesn't follow the rules, she will be back where she started. I pray she gets it together. Also, I recommend YOU call the doctor to get "real" medical advice. We are here only to support each other. We cannot help with your wife's food addictions or whatever issues causing her to take such a big risk. GOD BLESS & GOOD LUCK. Ashleey, I was nervous too; however, my faith in God was stronger than my own fears!! SAY A PRAYER AND LEAVE IT IN GOD'S HANDS. We can't stop the inevitable. Regardless of the circumstances, what's going to happen is already written, so don't let your anxieties and fears get the best of you. God will not put no more on you than you can bear!! Shaines9,LL I, too, had my RNY on Tuesday, May 30th at 8:00AM at Howard University in Washington, DC. The surgeon was impressed with my recovery, etc., and released from hospital the next day around 6:00PM. My pain is very minimal as if I didn't have surgery. I started walking the same evening after surgery and have been walking ever since. I'm 48 years old, soon to be 49 years old September 11th. Hubby and walked around cul de sac yesterday evening and walked a few lapses at the track this morning. Then, rode around in our new ride running errands. I AM TRULY BLESSED AND FAVORED TO BE HEALING SO WELL. I have my one week follow-up appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday, June 7th at 1:00PM. I'm focusing on drinking 2 Premier Protein (30g) shakes, water, and sugar free pudding per day -- thus far, NO ISSUES -- Praise God. TeResa

I'm drinking a shake or eating every 2 to 3 hours so I won't get hungry. Ensure you DRINK the water too. I'm in the restroom every 15 minutes! It's tiresome, but we HAVE to ensure no complications. @Okie75. Sorry you're having a hard time on the liquid diet. It sounds like you're not getting enough protein. My surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday, May 30th. I started liquid diet on May 16th ( 6th day) and it's been amazingly easy. I'm drinking at least 5 shakes and eating Sugar Free snacks (e.g., pudding, Jell-O) or Dannon Light/ Fit Yogurt. I start drinking 6:30AM and end about 9:00PM. If I get hungry, I eat a Jell-O. As of yesterday, I'm down 7lbs. I'm drinking the Premier Protein (30g) or Atkins (15g). Good luck!! I can't believe it's almost here. Liquid diet isn't bad because you're constantly drinking shakes, yogurt, pudding, broth and water throughout day. Not to mention, shrinking our liver is for our benefit so best to go hardcore and stick to plan. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
