First let me say I am not banded. But I use body fortress whey protein from wal mart it has 100 cals, 3g crab, and 26 g protein per scoop adn I think it tastes good.

Loooking for a surgeon who takes tenncare americhoice, I thought I found one but I CAN NOT pay the 3000$ that Parkwest Comprehensive Weight Loss Center (DRs. Boyce and Williams) wants for the comprehensive weight loss program fee.

I quit smoking 4 weeks ago I not only need to quit for at least 3 months before getting the band ,but whats the point in having a surgery that can kill you to get healthy and then smoke?I applaud those others out there that have quit.:thumbup: NOT BANDED YET

Hey my name is Bonnie and I live in Tennessee. I am 40 years old , married and am currently going through the 6 month Dr. supervised diet requested by my insurance. I am disabled (bi-polar). I have lost 2.8 pounds and 2.7 % body fat in 2 months. I am hoping to find someone who is willing to mentor me, even though I do not have a surgery date set. I am hoping that it will help me to be more successful through out my diet and future banding and that I can make a friend that can support me and who I can support. Thanks for Looking at my post.

I don't know about your insurance but for mine it had to be a 6 month DR. supervised diet , so I talked to my PCP and he started doing what he calls weight clinics with me where he put me on x number of calories a day and gave me some food restrictions then he weighs me and records it once a month. At first I was really upset about this but have discovered it is helping to teach me a lot of new habits for when I finally get the band although some days it is still frustrating. GOOD LUCK to you. turns out teh 8 pounds I thought I gained is only 1.2 pounds gained and .7% body fat lost.. my scale must be broken..lol.. I am estatic needless to say. now at start of month 3.

Well tomorrow I go to my weight clinic at my PCP's office to start month 3 wish me luck that the 8 pounds I gained is actually muscle and not fat or that my scale is wrong..lol...and yes I have been going to gym every other day so its possible I guess. Thanks
