  1. @@Meg53 and @pirinora Happy Friday girls! Im in Hobart. Im the same as you, each day is getting better. Im not able to eat as much as yourself yet. Am trying to have as much protein I can take in to help my body repair. Ive also listed a few puree recipes which I plan on cooking for next week. Speaking to my sister (who is a dietician) has suggested going to the GP and ask for a care plan, as part of that provides 5 bulk billed dietician sessions. Not sure if thatd be helpful.... Is any of you two on FB? Maybe I could set up a group to keep in touch and keep each other accountable. And any other awesome aussies who may want to join. In Hobart there is not much after care support :-( Hope youre having a great day. Bec Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  2. @@bluey, thats good to hear youre almost feeling normal. Where abouts are you from? I would say your surgery is a lot more complicated than just a LAP band, like I had... Are you back at work? Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  3. Morning @@bluey, feeling so much better than day 2! On to day 4 and am able to move around a fair bit more. How are you today? Have you had/ or going to have? How are you going with it all? Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  4. Sounds good :-) what is your fitbit email and I will add you :-) Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  5. I had a lap band done 23rd jan, my surgeon sent me home with panadole only. Be it right or wrong. I guess every surgeon is different. If youre unsure about taking all the meds may be you should ask your surgeon if they are all neccessary and if so why Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  6. Thank you @Berry78. Theres not much of a wait list here in Hobart. Also my surgeon had no requirements to do a liquid diet first. No idea why not :-/ Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App

  8. Hi All, I am new to all of this, after 12 months of considering WLS I went and seen a surgeon and after 2 weeks was in having the op, being the 23rd of January 17. Im now 3 days Post Op and had been looking for support groups or just anyone who needs support along the journey Becks Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  9. Thanks Amy, Ive managed to find some panedine forte laying around the house. The perception he gave me, saying that panadole would be fine has made me concerned that something may not be right. Im definately in a lot more than panadole pain :-/ Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App Thanks tallgirl, I will give this a go! X Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  10. I guess the hospital gown bit is dependamt on your hospital. I was only in overnight and was so much easier wearing the gown. Maybe call the hospital where you are going to and check in on that type of information X Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App

  15. My surgeon was hopeless, gave me a pamphlet and said follow this for the next 3 weeks. Wasnt at all helpful. My sister is a dietician and put me on to a book 'Your complete guide to nutrician for weight loss surgery.' I bought it on google play store and have found it a great resource. Gives you meal plans and recipes under each phase of post op surgery. Hope this helps x Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App

  18. I had my LAP band done 2 days ago. Im similar to yourself I feel awful! Hot wheat pack has helped. I have been trying to so small walks (10-20m then rest) but have been feeling extremely tight in the chest. The hospital gave me a breathing exerciser which Im using after I go for a small walk which seems to help take the edge of the hideous chest pain. Hope youre feeling better soon :-) x Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  19. I had my surgery 2 days ago, I took a heap of things I didn't need but made me feel safe that I had those extra bits and bobs. They key things for me was, lip balm (mouth was all dry from after the surgery and the oxygen etc.), baggy trackies (so nothing was tight around my waist), pair of thongs or slippers (theres no way i was doing laces up afterwards) and my phone and charger (to distract me) Good luck. Hope all goes well x Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App

  25. Hi All So it is day 2 of post op surgery and boy, if someone would have told me I'd be in so much pain I may have reconsidered.
