  1. Very, very nervous. Worried I have not prepared myself enough. I have actually gained since my last appt. How about you? Excited or nervous?
  2. Having my last appt Thursday, then being submitted to insurance. Hoping to have surgery the last week of July or in the first 2 weeks of August.
  3. From the paper work I have soup counts as a liquid and no, you do not have to wait to drink 30 min before or after.
  4. My 2 week presurgery diet is not a liquid diet. I haven't gotten all the details yet but I know it's 1000 cal and pretty sure high protein. I won't be having surgery until August. I will be submitting for insurance approval the end of June. One I am approved they schedule me for a class to talk about the 2 week liver shrinking diet. Best wishes. Contact the facility you are having surgery at as soon as you can.
  5. You are not alone! Just had my 5 month appt last Tuesday. Came out of there feeling like I really need to get serious practicing all the things that I need to be posing after surgery.
  6. You look great!! Keep up the terrific job!
  7. I am having the ryn ... may sound crazy but I want the greater Weightloss percentage and the healthy fear of dumping ... hoping that vitamins are my saving grace when it comes to malnutrition ... you need to do what you are most comfortable with ... please refresh my memory, when is your surgery?
  8. Hi Splendid, I sent you a private message with my cell number for texting. Are you ready to get started tomorrow morning? Melissa
  9. Any one out there want to start their Mon to Fri out with a great start by touching base between 7:30 and 8:30 AM and be each other's accountability partner? Help each other with such things meal planning and other bariatric and non bariatric things?
  10. Hoping to have my surgery in Aug. I finish up my 6 months of Medically Supervised Weight-loss Visits the end of June. Very nervous too.
  11. I have been struggling. It's a roller coaster ride for me. I will do really well for a while then hit a bump in the road. The bump this time has been Easter sweets.
  12. Sounds like something I'd like to try one I get to puréed
  13. Just wanted to say welcome to the forums. I have my last my last NUT appt in June, hoping for an August surgery. Loved to stay in touch and support each other.
  14. Resha - I know you are well past the liquid stage but at I also know protein shakes are sometimes still being used your point. If you are still having trouble getting your protein in I was going to select Nectar shakes. They come in a ton of flavors (fruit, latte, cappaccino) You can order a sample pack through MyBariatricPantry.com and tell them the flavors you'd like to try. It is a little pricey. I spent around $25 for the sample pack of 10 which includes shipping. Then after you find a flavor or flavors you like order the canister. Good Luck!
  15. I also have only told my husband, parents, my sister and 1 friend. I do not plan on telling anyone else prior to surgery. I don't want to take the chance of some not supporting me. I am concerned that I may be put in the situation closer to surgery of needing to share because my surgery will be during the summer and my son is very social going over friends and having them over. Being the type of person that I am having a hard time not being directly honest I feel like this could be a struggle, when I don't allow his friends to come over or can't drive him to a friends or why are my parents staying with me. At that time I know i will be honest, but my intent will be to inform the person that it was necessary for my health, it isn't for everyone but it was the right decision for me.
  16. amyemer .... must feel good to have the first surgeon appt .... I'm having my abdomen ultrasound, Chest Xray, upper gi xray and 3rd Weight mgmt appt on March 21 ... Haven't been doing as well as I would like food wise, not eating total junk but not eating near strict as I was ... from what I understand it doesn't matter if I gain, lose, or stay the same .... I need to check into that again
  17. Glad to hear you are feeling more like yourself.... I haven't had surgery yet but have suffered with depression and it is not fun
  18. I'm sorry you are going through this. Nor sure if you are pre or post op, but post op it is very common for your emotions to be off. I think it has to do with hormones. I have chronic depression, so I know the feeling of just feeling off. Things have been going well for me pre-op. Of course I have my slip ups but I have been focusing on eating protein at every meal or snack. I'm down atleast 14 lbs since the beginning of January. Things that have helped in the past are doing activities. For me it was playing on apps like solitaire, skip-bo, farkle, jig saw puzzles. Another thing I did at one point was coloring. I'm not big on the adult coloring books because some of them can be tedious because they have so many small spots to color in. If you have it in you going for a walk is useful also. I wish you the best. to reach out to me. Feel free to reach out to me if you want.
  19. Best wishes to all that have had surgery this month or are scheduled to!!!
  20. I'm doing high Protein... triple zero yogurt, eggs, 2% cheese sticks, 2% cottage cheese with barely any complex carbs ..... it has helped me lose 6.5 lbs over the past 2 weeks
  21. How's everyone doing? I had my 2nd NUT Appt last week. I had to set a couple of goals. So we decided I would focus on not skipping meals and increase my steps. I've definitely have done better with not skipping meals and increased my steps over the weekend but not so good over the past two days. Going to keep plugging along though. Please share if you are working on anything?
  22. Good Luck Carol! You are going to do great!
