    Pre-op diet starts tomorrow

What kind of shake are you having? Remember that you're able to have 1-2 cups of low sodium chicken/beef broth, sugar free jell-o, pop-cicles, low calorie drinks like Vitamin Water, Gatorade, etc. My surgeon told me to mix two scoops of Protein powder with 8 oz of almond/coconut/skim milk/ ice. (250 calorie make sure milk us unsweetened) hope this helps. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

    Anybody in Jersey?!

I actually called them first, but they only take out of network coverage and I have Horizon Omnia. Dr. Sadek is doing my surgery, he also has an office in Freehold which is where I would see him; however I'm having my surgery at RWJ since it's tier 1 which means my surgery is covered 100%, I'm just paying $250 copay for the one night that I'm staying inpatient. Hey Bill, we started our liquid diets the same day, but I have been on a low carb diet since October, have lost 25 pounds. Are you having problems with your Vitamins? I was taking regular Multivitamins but they were making me very nauseous. Went to Vitamin Shoppe yesterday and got some liquid vitamins, took them today, so far so good. Stopping liquid stage.

I haven't had the procedure yet, but getting ready for it I realized that I have to learn to enjoy the things I love without having to associate it with food, like family gatherings, etc. Stay strong, this is another goal that you must accomplish in order to change your life once and for all. Find an extra special Protein shake recipe and enjoy the heck out your precious Patriots! Then come back and tell us how good it felt to stay strong and not let food dictate what you can and cannot enjoy! Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

    Getting Discouraged

Have you tried Probiotics? During my last visit with my surgeon she recommended Ultimate Flora 20 billion/capsule since I was coming off antibiotics, but she said I should continue to take them since they are go for our guts and helps with gas and weight loss. Also, hummus, Beans, cottage cheese, yogurt...Are high in protein. I would say, stay away from carbs and focus on lean protein/fiber instead, drink your liquids and physical activity. Good luck. Omnia bcbsnj

I have omnia NJ and I'm having my surgery on the January 25th. My primary physician did sign the letter of recommendation and I had to complete a questionnaire detailing everything I have done in the past in order to lose weight, in addition to getting clearance from the numerous specialists. Everything else, my surgeon took care of. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-op protein

I'm drinking Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey Isolate. I got a 6.6 lb bag from costco for $44. According to my husband Isolate Protein is absorb faster, Since we're going to have a hard time absorbing protein we figured it made sense to go with this brand. You can also get it at GNC, Vitamin Shoppe. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-op diet starts tomorrow

Hi "julia454", I'm having my procedure on the 25th. I'm on my 4th day of the liquid diet. I'm actually having 3 to 4 Protein shakes per day (2 scoops of whey powder protein w/8 oz almond milk), 2 cups of low sodium chicken broth, and sugar free Jell-o, ice pops and plenty of Water. I like to infused my water with lemon, ginger, mint. And very important, my surgeon has encouraged physical activities (3-4/week aerobics, strength training) which I have been following.
