  1. I was just like that It seem like i just couldn't shake it... Get u some fresh air.. and drink some crystal lite or some sugar free kool-aid something that will give u some strength.. I was in the same state u were in and i thought i was going to just pass out.... U may be in the beginning stages of being dehydrated... push yourself to drink as much fluid as u can.... sip on some cream of chicken soup or some sort of broth or something...
  2. I try to drink water every other hour before i eat and possiably an hour after i eat so i can get all of it in.... its hard.. but i do it...
  3. U know before i was banded I would read... oh it was a breeze.. it wasent bad at all... People would say hey it wasen't bad at all... Now i am no punk when it comes to pain... I have a high tollerence for pain. Bottom line, however the lapband.. that was hell to tell the captain.... I am real when i say i was in pain... Read my blog.. like i said i refuse to lie to anyone...lol.. but this i do know is that it will get better... as each day goes by.. it is always better than the day before... The pain meds the Dr. made me really sick.. so i stopped taking them... If u take a few tylenol that should do it.. and make sure u drink plenty of fluid because u will get dehydrated... I did, but i refused to go to the hospital, because i have a 3-year old and it is just me and him.... It will get better trust me....
  4. that is cool n the gang... I know everything is going to go ok....
  5. Yes and they are just now leaving...
  6. No problem... I got a fill today and I must say that I thank God that I haven't had the throwing up, sick feeling, or any of the other adverse effects... I am so grateful for that... Even tho the scale has not moved since a week after being banded I can definately see the inches coming off, as well as my face, and arms and such going down.... This is a great thing.... ahhhh success at last...:rolleyes2::Banane17:
  7. U know i got a fill today and he put 2cc's n which made a total of 5cc's I have maintained my weight loss from when i weighed myself the week after i was banded.. See my body is like this here it's like listen chick i know u, u will workout for a few weeks and then stop.. so im not sure if u are going to keep it up or not so i will get lazy and wont show u any results until i think u have worked hard enough...lol... then about a month after i start working out i will see the weight loss.. so nothing to worry about.. it happens... it will come off..just like u said better off than on.. better down than up..
  8. and I can't lie that shyt hurt...lol... Of course I had to lay down a pillow was under my back, and he had me to lift my head a little while he felt for the port.. no problem finding it at all... I asked how much did the band have in it when the band was put in and he withdrew the fluid and said that it was 3cc's in it when i was banded.. That's cool. He put 2-more cc's in it so i have a total of 5cc's in my band.. as he was putting the fill in the needle was still in the port and he had me to sit up and drink water while he was filling it... I looked at him like dude are u crazy... I will punch u n the face...lol.. this shit hurts....lol.. No problem with drinking water at all, and I still don't have a problem drinking anything.. I would like to know from people that have been banded and have a 10cc band how much of a fill did it take for u to get to a good point where u were loosing weight and controling your hunger?
  9. My theory is if u put saline in a plastic bottle and just leave it sitting on a shelf for 1 to 2 years thru heat, cold, and everything else.. not leakage.. some of the Fluid will evaporate... I have found this out thru people that's been banded for years.... so nothing is impossiable but when u get your next fill just ask your Dr. to see how much of a fill u have and that will solve that.. lol Check this link out also.. which will support what I said... :-) http://www.core.monash.org/patient-care.pdf
  10. Hi Salam.... Please don't get down about the slow process... what happens is that once u are banded of course we all have to go thru that liquid phase.. which just shrinks your liver... and gives temporary weightloss... because as soon as u start eating regular foods either the weight comes back or it slows down. May I ask what r u eating on a daily basis, are u working out yet, if so what are u doing during your workouts, and if not why? and how much Water are u drinking?
  11. You know that sounds about right.. The portions should be much smaller and u should be eating more often.. like every 3-4 hours.. if u eat a slice of cheese and a piece of lunch meat or something for a snack that if fab... and then a few hours later eat your lunch or dinner what ever is next.. that is the way it should be.. That's the way your body keeps your metabolism raised and burning fat..... so dont ignore the hunger pains...
  12. U know i was given liquid lortab and i felt as sick as a dog... Trust me when i say u have to force yourself to drink your liquids or u will get dehydrated... I felt the same way. I didn't eat or drink anything for 4-days and my eyes were sunken in and I could tell i was dehydrated... u have to drink....
  13. Dr's knows best however I would do extensive research about erosion of the band and see how that is caused...
  14. WOW... see that's why people keep their procedures to themselves becasue they don't want people to wait for them to fail.. That is ashame that people are so critical of others like that... the bottom line is that the lady had to work her azz of at loosing the weight.. If u get a fill and never workout u will loose weight but sooner or later it will stop.. U have to add to what u have to get the results that u want.. and that's what people do that have the band... How sad...But u were right not to tell her at this point because she was so critical of the person on tv.. only heavens knows what and how she will feel about u... u have to ween her in on it...
  15. U know that's why I love this site.. because there is so much excellent information on here... Thanks....
  16. lol... Thanks.. it is truly hard and i have a 3-year old son that wants this and that.. and wants mommy to taste everything... but I am in control and I just have to say no... and I am doing rather well at that now... Plz keep me updated on how your apt and everything goes... I would also ask the dr. to see how much u have in your band before u get a fill also... and that will let u know if some of the fluid evaporated....
  17. I do believe after a long period of time the fluid does evaporate, and I have also read that some bands may hold more than it actually say they should hold.. but I have my first apt. on this thursday and I am going to ask..
  18. I have often thought about this as well... hmmm
  19. U know Dusty i commend u for doing that... that's what a real man does... wow.... :tt1::party:...lol ok just make things a comfy for her as u can, and make sure u make her drink her fluids... she may not want to but she must sip, sip and walk walk and walk some more...
  20. Well I drove the same day I had to go and pick up my son from school.. They tell u not to drive for at least 24hrs..
  21. i wish that is since I started the process.... in October of 07... Now the real test is starting now... I will have a Dr's apt. on thursday so when i weigh in that scale better go down or i will be fighting myself...lol...
  22. U know this was one of the pains in my side... I was so use to drinking while eating.. and I have a 3-yr old soon to be 4 June 25th:thumbup:I would always tell him Todd stop drinking while u are eating, because this gives u a false since of being full... Of course I was still doing it and he asked me mommy why are u drinking and I can't... This could have been one of the moments where the parent says well because I said so.....Or hey baby u are right...... and that's what I said.. I shouldn't drink while I am eating and since I have stopped he has started eating all of his food and he will drink later.. he is not focused on drinking at all.. which makes me so happy because he was a really pickey eater .. which made me feel in many ways like i wasent doing something right.. but now I know I wasent.. I was contradicting myself and that was confusing to him... to make my long azz story shorter... I drink about 30-60- minutes after i have eaten...
  23. WOW... I was told that u should stay away from any type of carbonated drinks.... bottom line.. the carbonation will expand your pouch.. u will defeat the purpose.. u can drink it once it turns flat, but not with the full fizz affect...lol... This is one of those things that I have given up and really don't miss at all... I guess I had to give up something.... I haven't had a diet, or regular soda in over 2-mths.... talking about rehab....
  24. It was like Carrie C' said I read not to eat fruits that were hard to chew and to digest.. like the peel's on the apple, or broccoli and stuff..I took it the wrong way and just figured that i should avoid fiber, but I know now that I was oh so wrong...
