I have a question... I am aching in my lower back, legs so bad mostly at night. I am going to go to my primary care this week. It may not be related to the lap band but thought I would ask if any one has this problem banded 4/14. I also have thyroid and blood pressure meds that may need to be changed. I lost a pound a day for the first week then nothing for 3 weeks started loosing again about a pound a day for almost 2 weeks 18 pounds total. It was so bad tonight I had to take some left over pain med to get comfortable. I dont have much restriction I feel like I could eat anything but I count calories and stay between 800-1000 a day. I walk everyday for 30 min. and it's been getting harder because of the aching.

O that does make it hard becasue the husband wont talk to you openly about it. That doesnt seem right. I wish you and your husband and your friend and her husband could get together and talk openly about why he feels this way. You are open and respect their bellives so I dont understand the harm in discussing this with you guys. Does he want his wife your friend hanging out with you or is that not allowed either?

simmons775, this is the first time I have read this site. I have been saved since I was little. I am so thankful my parents brought me to church and I know it saved my life. I have not always lived a christian life and if it hadn't been for my parents prayers and upbringing in church I may not of ever found my way home. AS for your questions... No in my opinion Christian should not stick to there own kind. Christian is Christ like and Christ loved all. Jesus loves you even know you have not yet accepted him. Not knowing the circumstances behind keeping the children away its hard to comment on. I am sorry he hurt your feelings not even Christians are perfect try to keep that in mind. I believe Christians are not better or worse sinners than the non Christian's but the difference is once you ask God to forgive you and you receive His free gift of eternal life you know with out a doubt when you die your going to Heaven. The price for forgiveness has already been paid when Jesus died on the cross it's free we just need to receive it. maybe you could talk to them and explain your feelings are hurt and ask them if there is something that you could do so the kids can be friends. It could be as simple as he doesn't want his children watching certain shows on tv and once you agree then the problem is solved. I hope you can forgive him and work this out. My prayers are with you.

I got my band 3/11/08 from Dr. Michael Wood From ABMI at detroit medical center. I was going to get my first fill today 6 weeks post op and my Dr called and told me he has a new policy and will only be doing fills once a month and so don't come in till may 31. I will be 10 weeks post op this dosn't sound right. I've lost 38 pounds since I was banded but I'm getting hungry and eating more. I called my Dr. and he told me to have will power:cursing::cursing:. My surgury was $27000.00 since he got paid I feel he is blowing me off what should I do. I don't want to take a step backward O this is wrong on so many levels!!! Even if I wasn't self pay, this is not acceptable. They need to hear from you and hear from you often. Call the office and demand to speak with the doctor if he doesn't call you today call again and then tell him I need a fill and when you paid the fee you were told you would get a fill in 6 weeks and that's what you intend on having. Let him know you would have no problems with the change if it didn't effect your health, out come but you feel it does and you want your fill now. You can be very stern and remain respectful and you better believe there are others who received a fill bc they wouldn't accept it. If you show you are unhappy he should be quick to make you happy bc he has to know you can report him and cause all kinds of problems even if the accusation ends up being false.

Thank you...It is pretty funny! My doctor laughs at me also. I have 2 teens and a 4yr old and they are eating pizza(smell drives me) and chocolate and everything I love. I have to remember that just bc my eating habits have changed everyone around me is still the same. I need to learn to go shopping or something during these really hard times. Knowing me I will change from over eating to over spending. lol Today is a new Day! I will be o.k until Wednesday 5/7 first fill and then 2nd fill will be on 5/21. It's funny how I look forward to the first fill but it also gives me so much anxiety (pain, needles WHAT). The very thought makes my blood pressure rise. lol Have a wonderful Day!

My DR said the same thing. After 1 week, eat what is comfortable. He said everyone advances differently. I was nervous also to try it after reading every ones diet. I just cant wait until fill because not like most I don't feel full after only 2 oz of food.

HI, I haven't posted in awhile because I am discouraged to say the least. I went to the doctor last week and i can eat any food now that is tolerable but no junk food or sweet for obvious reasons. However if I could of done this b-4 band I wouldn't need the band. I am failing miserably. I am walking 1.5 miles a day at least sometimes more from day 3 after surgery no problem. However, eating is another story. I lost 10 pounds since surgery now I have gained 2 back already. I can eat as much as I use to if I wanted I still feel like I am restricting myself not going over 1200 cal day but I am still gaining. I know I am eating to much but 1. I am hungry and 2. I have a problem and it feels as if I don't have a band right now. Good news my doc is giving me my first fill next week, that is only 3.5 weeks after surgery. I hope and pray this will work. My doc keeps saying after your fill it will work but I must say depression is all I feel right now.

headhunter your story is unfortunate and I hope this will never happen to any one else. I'm sorry for your pain and suffering, I can't imagine you wanted to do something to improve your life and ends up hurting you. Can you tell me if there is anything you could have done differently after being banded to prevent such serious issues now? For those of us who have a band and want to do our best to prevent complications what signs should we look for? Did you have unusual pain, fever long before the port open up?

O man I was just banded on Monday and I was soooo nervous and I second guessed myself right up until I went in hopeing I did the right thing. I searched for poor results from the lap band and couldnt find any. I knew there are complications but I never knew of deaths caused by this. Thanks for sharing yor story we all need to know the turth the good and the ugly to make a wise choice if it is for us or not. What were the first signs of something went wrong? I want to know what I need to be looking for. Also, I thought the lap band is completly reversable if need be. Any way I am sorry you are having trouble I belive everything happens for a reason and maybe you were chosen to support those it didnt work out for. I pray my band will be o.k. I dont think I could take another let down.

Thank you for your story! I am scheduled to have the surgery with him on Monday the 14th. I am nervous a little because he the DR, I met yesterday doesnt say much. So I didnt get that feel good feeling when I left. Do you know if the center is a center of excellence? My primary care DR told me to make sure he is.

Thanks, I do have to have a stress test. I even had my primary care DR check again today and she confirmed I should have a stress test. I need it like asap so I dont have to cancel surgery on the 14th. i will look them up now.

Thank you, I went for my pre-op yesterday and I met someone who had surgery last Friday and I met someone who is having surgery on the same day as I am at the same hospital. Who knows maybe we will be roommates for the night.

I know this is a shock to most but I am not the best at finding my way around. I hope this hasnt been asked before. I am scheduled for April 14th. I have not had the opportunity to talk to anyone that has used them but at the consultation it was packed and they say he does nothing but lap band surgery. Not sure of the spelling but the Doctors name is Dr. Nirmul at True Results in Scottsdale, AZ
