  3. Hi everyone, I will be having surgery January 31st. I'm nervous anxious and excited all at once. I haven't told too many people about the surgery with the exception of two co-workers (and they both assumed I was taking the easy way out and should just diet) but that's another story, my husband and personal trainer. Husband is on board because he wants me to be healthy but he doesn't seem to grasp what a life changing decision this is for me. He hasn't been to one single appointment with me but he offered to drop me off at the hospital day of surgery before he goes to work. Back off ladies, he's mine lol. My trainer/friend is my only support system right now but she has so much going on in her life that I feel like I'm burdening her with my concerns. Needless I'm pretty much on my own and I'm ok with that. I'm doing this for myself and my kids. I don't want to be obese anymore. I want to run with them without getting winded. I want to take them to the park and play with them instead of standing, who am I kidding, sitting by the sidelines, I can't stand for too long without my knees and ankles hurting. I just want the old me back. If there's anyone in the NYC area or even someone having surgery around the same time as me that would like to have a friend to talk to, I'd love that. 4. After I had my son, I had gained 100 lbs. I started yoyo dieting and would lose 20 lbs but still be in the same size. After excessive gains and losses I noticed that plus sized clothing isn't accurate. I could gain 20 lbs and still fit into all my clothes and then I weigh myself and see a 20 on increase! Like whoa!! On the flip side, when I was a size 6 which seems like sooo long ago if I'd gain a 5 lbs (during that time of month) I'd need a size up cuz then the 6 was too snug. Each size allows room for 5-10 lbs in "regular" sizes. But you can gain 20 lbs and easily still fit in your plus size clothes. <---I blame this for not catching myself before hitting my all time highest weight. 5. I think he's just trying to be nice. I would nicely say, next time you stop by to grab a shake, can you get me a greek yogurt or maybe a Vitamin Water. Just ask for a healthier alternative. My husband is "naturally" thin as well and whenever he picks up dinner or snacks, I'll ask for something healthy and we eat together. It's not about what we eat, but about us sitting down to eat together as a family.
  6. @anndriar15 HW 275, CW 269 5'5" and I'm in Brooklyn. When do you start your pre-op diet?
  7. sure I need a sleeve buddy, what are your stats? where are you located?
  8. My surgery is January 31st, I have a BMI of 44 and I have to be on the clear liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery as well. No pre-made Protein shakes either. I have to make them myself with Water. I'm starting to think that the pre-op diet depends on your surgeon. Cuz it's varies with each person you talk to. I'm starting my diet a week early so I can get accustomed to it. I'll start with having Greek yogurts and pre-made shakes and hopefully in a weeks time, the clear liquid diet won't be so bad. 10. My pre-op testing is scheduled for the 24th, getting sleeved on the 31st. I found out last month that I shouldn't be smoking cigs so I quit dec 8. Lately, I've taken a hit off a joint, eaten a gummy and smoked a small blunt. I suffer from nothing. I just like weed. I don't smoke it often or anywhere near what I used to years ago but I smoked recently as a farewell Will they test for drugs when they test for nicotine? I'm starting to worry that I may have sabotaged myself Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
