    Fill Doctors

Does anyone know of fill doctors in Georgia that will fill for patients that were not banded in their office. I am considering the surgery and seems to me that a doctor in Colorado (Dr. K) is the cheapest I could find for us self-payers (without leaving the country). I called True Results in Atlanta and they told me that they would not fill patients that did not have the surgery in their office. I live in the metro Atlanta area but I am open to any doctor in the state that would do fills. I am still in the process of learning everything I can about the procedure and so far everything I have learned from these forums is great. I know there are those in Georgia that have went elsewhere to have the surgery and I am finding out that Atlanta definately is not the cheapest place to be banded.
  2. Has anyone used a doctor in Atlanta or the metro area? There are several and I would like to find a recommednation from someone other than reading a posting in the doctors office. I am looking for the doctors experience and the ost of the procedure. I visited one doctors office and they seemed kind of pushy and I go the vibe that I my money was more important than me being a patient.
  3. Am I glad I stumbled upon this forum. It seems very imformative and seems to have a lot of people that have had the procedure. I am gathering information about the procedure and have visited a doctors office in Atlanta about the surgery. I am looking forward to having the surgery but have not made a committment to any doctor yet. The office I visited seemed kind of pushy, wanting me to have the surgery right away. It could have just been me but that was the vibe I was getting fromt he staff. Has anyone had the surgery in Atlanta? Does anyone have recommendation of doctors or offices to stay away from?

    Fill Doctors

Thanks, I am considering the same doctor in Colorado. I also called Dr. Hart in Atlanta. I was told that he will not do fills for patients that were not banded by his office. Thanks for the list. I am going to continue to search. If airfare ever drops (not likely with fuel prices) it may be cheaper to fly back to Colorado for fills.

    Law enforcement thread

Thanks for the info. I am also diabetic (type II) and this is why I am considering getting banded. I do not want to take insulin and I am at the point where I need to. Concerning the body armor. I have a friend is a rep for a body armor company. Don't know which one at this moment, but he may have some suggestions and may know of a swap out program. My department has a replacement policy and weight loss covers new vests if needed before the life of the vest expires. May be something to check with at your agency. If your agency is involved with CALEA, you should have some policy on the body armor.

    Law enforcement thread

I am a Sheriff's Deputy in Georgia. I work for a metro Atlanta county and I have decided that I want to be banded. My insurance does not cover the cost of the surgery so I will probably go to Colorado where it is much cheaper. I am glad I found this thread because some of you have asked questions that I was wondering. I am a patrol supervisor and like most agencies in the area, we are busy, and warm weather is going to make it worse. I can not work if I can't wear my body armor. I am concernd that it may take longer than a week to heal and get back to work. Has anyone experienced this? How long were you out or on light duty before returning to street duty? I do not think the long term effects (sitting in the patrol car, possible fighting) will be a problem but the body armor does put a squeeze on now (especially since I'm overweight).

    Byetta

I have been taking Byetta for two weeks now (5MG). Today I will go up to 10MG. I am not banded yet. Thought I would try the medication first. I have noticed that I am not as hungry and have cut back on the amount of food I eat. However, I don't want to do this forever and I dont think the weight loss will be enough to reduce my diabetes medication. I plan on getting banded as soon as I can.

Hello everyone. I am from Woodstock and have yet to be banded. I am going to be self pay becuase I have horrible insurance. Still researching doctors but locally True Results seems to be the cheapest for self pay.

    Hi from Atlanta, GA.

This is the same office I went to. Although I did not meet with Dr. Hart. Let me know how it goes. I am going to a orientation meeting this week with a office in Woodstock. Going to check the prices with this office. I also found one on Canton Hwy in Marietta. Dr. Hart's office was $15,500.

    Hi from Atlanta, GA.

Thanks for the info. I actually live just north of Atlanta. The tornadoes were in the same county that I live. I did not go out yesterday, just listened for the tornado sirens and took cover when they were close.
