  1. Made a recipe from a Pinterest. Wasn't paying attention and I overcooked the chicken. Tasted good but a little to dry for me. Chewed forever. Ugh.
  2. I don't think I'd get through it either. But if you just do chicken you might not get to the veggies. ??? Did you? I'm working on my two bites of protein and one of veggies. So far it's good, but I think I took one bite too many tonight. Feels gross right now.
  3. Ugh, no thank you! 300!?!? Whoa. Glad you made it through the day though!
  4. Here is my last phase, week 3 on, from my nut. This is basically how I have been eating pre-op and this is easily sustainable for me. Just to give you an idea.
  5. I love this. Thank you that and I'm not even the OP. ?
  6. No you don't. I won't be doing low carbs either. Hate counting anything as well. And I have my reservations about Keto too. I agree with everything you've posted in regards to it, I choose not to say much about it cause then you get a some folks jumping on board, almost as if you're wrong. You're not. Do what works for you. If a Keto isn't it (definitely not me) than that's okay too.
  7. Ah hon, in my experience with people who are in grief (no matter the circumstances) who bare all and talk about it, are those who find healing a whole lot quicker! You are AMAZING for doing this. You are not disgusting and there is no more shame. You are a beautifully created soul with a beautifully created body. Great job in taking care of it and congratulations for seeing your worth hon. You are priceless. ?
  8. I'm two weeks and one day post op...not quite the month. I don't weigh myself either; forget about numbers!! My clothes are fitting loser, I'm generally a positive happy person, I'm even more so now. I've been told that I just look good by friends who don't even know I had WLS. I follow my doc's orders and I listen to my body now. I don't have to sip my water/drinks anymore! I still can't take gulps, but I can drink nicely. I'm happy I did this and I don't regret it one bit!
  9. The National Women's Health Information Center lists these common causes of urinary tract infections in women: Wiping from back to front after a bowel movement. Having sex. Holding urine for too long. Being diabetic. Having a kidney stone or other factor that makes it difficult to urinate. Producing less estrogen, such as after menopause. Having recently had a catheter inserted
  10. I would say if you haven't had any complications since, then you should be fine, but to stop drinking them until you're cleared by your doc or your plan calls for berries, etc. You might want to call your doc though. Just in case.
  11. Good morning y'all! I got a good walk in this morning, a brisk 15 min walk. Took my 12 year old to her first track meet at the high school stadium which is basically right across the street from me. We had to walk all the way around though. Dropped her off and walked back home. Now I'm getting ready to go to work. I hope you all have a great day today. Be blessed. I'll check back in later!
  12. Thank you Sweet! You have a blessed day yourself! ?
  13. That was me after a week. 51 emails to answer and stayed busy. Hope it all goes smoothly too. Let us know how your diet goes at work. ? Have a great day hon!
  14. Yeah. I feel the same way. How? For now I'll just drink them in a shake at least once a day. But my nut wants me to have two bites of protein and one bite of veggie. I won't get very far with it, but I guess I should start trying it. Like you say, trial and error.
  15. Here's my week 3 plan and on....
  16. Awww...sound alike great memories too. I, too, will have them. Although I prefer to skip the tween years. ? I'm getting grays already. Lol im glad you had a beautiful day and a rest day of cooking too. ?
  17. And she's 12? Wow. It seems the age...my step daughter has always been thin, but now she's stick thin, long and lanky like. It's amazing what she can eat. Even before surgery she still ate more than me. Don't know where it all goes. lol
  18. Yeah, I thought I pulled a muscle or stitch. It hasn't interfered too much with walking though. So that's a plus.
  19. I just want to squeeze her!! She's so huggable cute!!!! ?
  20. Thank you. I'm totally normal then!!! How long has it been going on for you?
  21. Ok. So I've developed this sharp nabbing pain on the right side of my belly. It hurts if I bend over, take a deep breath, cough, laugh, etc. I thought maybe I pulled the muscle where the incision is? Then I looked up the symptom from other Sleevers, seems like this pain pops up around 2 or 3 weeks, maybe later. Has something to do with the healing process. Might last a few days to a week. But the best thing is to rest and not strain it. My binder will be coming in handy these next few days. Anyone else with this?
  22. My kids will too. I swear they're all in a growing spurt at the same time. They ate all their food, shared with each other. That was two hours ago. Now they're eating again. Thankfully, kids ate free at Applebee's today, so we spent $17 for all 5 of us. I call that a win!
  23. I'm so happy to hear it!! Yay!!!!
  24. Wow! This is great!! Good job hon.
  25. So, I tried chicken! It was so good and yummy. We took our girls to eat out. I just figured I'd nibble on what they order. Nope, corn dog, fries, mac n cheese, mozzarella sticks....nevermind that. So I just asked for a grilled chicken breast with some cheese thrown on top. It was the best grilled chicken I've had in a long time. Very juicy, so that helped a lot. Of course I brought the rest home and threw it in the freezer for later. It was a nice addition to the limited foods I've been eating. Yay for chicken!
