  1. I've learned the more you eat beans the better your tolerance. I eat them all the time and don't have issues with gas. Kind of the same but off topic, peanut tolerance...there was a study done that if you start your kids early on with peanuts during infancy (obviously a safe way to introduce it), those kids have built a tolerance of them. It's all very interesting actually.
  2. I don't remember when I actually started more veggies, but it was early on. I was cleared for all foods about 3-4 weeks. Up until that time, my nut approved of my "green bombs" in protein shakes, which were ice cubes sized blended green veggies and fruits, that were blended in to my drinks. So technically, I had veggies from the get go. Didn't bother me at all. Now I do recall having salad early on, didn't bother me either.
  3. I sure hope so but if it doesn't happen, then it's not the end of the world for me. I'll get there and it'll still be a memorable moment when that time comes. No rush for me currently, but it WOULD be nice! I'm feeling way off today. Came home today at noon because my head feels like it's being squeezed. I think I've got a sinus infection starting...which is weird, cause I haven't been sick in a long time! I laid down for a while and watched a movie, when I got back up, felt horrible. Body aches, head aches, etc. Not cool at all. I might just stay home from work tomorrow too and just take it real easy. Try and organize my papers/file here at home which is a dream of mine that everything has it's place and order in the house. LOL
  4. Have you tried putting an electrolyte in your water to help? My lips always get chapped, urine too dark, and I always feel "hungry" when I'm really just thirsty. I have made a point to drink as much water as I can these last few days, I feel like I've slacked on my liquid intake. It's really easy to forego the drinks. I had lots of dizziness on Sunday, but I didn't associate it with lack of water. Maybe that's what it was. ???
  5. 4 months post op y'all in three days!
  6. Today a coworker was telling me how tired he is due to stress. He's got high blood pressure, etc. I said, "hey, if you change your diet, you could help yourself a lot!" He says, "Tell me what I have to do and I'll do it." (Rubbing my hands together...yay!!) I told him to either eliminate or reduce his consumption of meats and eat salads for lunches and dinners (he doesn't have time to cook--always picking up something) and always have some fruits and veggies to snack on throughout the day. I also sent him a few videos from nutritionfacts.org regarding blood pressure and diet. I hope he does it and sticks to it. I talk with him most days, so I'll be following up. I want to hear how much better he feels.
  7. Weighed this morning. Same! I'm stuck on 200. Maybe tmi, but it's that time of the month too so I might be holding for a couple of days. I went to the gym last night. My foot is still bothersome after my fall off the steps, but not that much. I just do the elliptical, since it feels better than the treadmill. I did 2.1mi on it. Need to keep log and update the challenge...guess I should see what the rules are. Hope y'all have a blessed day!
  8. Bahahahajajaja! Oh man...lol??
  9. awww....I'm glad you went with her! ?
  10. So, this is what you look like!!!! Always nice to have a face to a username! Lol. Great transformation hon. Job well done on 86lbs!!!
  11. I had gained about ten lbs when I met my husband and was 160 when I married ten years ago. Even then I thought I was fat, smh...I'll be pretty darn happy too to be at that again. Lol
  12. Has she considered refusing some? refused some of them myself.
  13. I was told something similar. Personally it didn't bother me about any kind of genetic disorders. I just prayed for a healthy, breathing baby no matter what, my baby will be loved just as God made her. Although nothing was disordered, I believe that all babies are precious gifts from the Lord, what a nice gift to have! (and an expensive and sometimes pulling your hair out gift! LOL) I hope all goes well for your daughter and new grand-baby though.
  14. But at least you're just about at goal or did you meet it already???? This is awesome.
  15. I decided to just weigh in until the day it shows a number 1. So today it's still at 200. LOL We shall see what tomorrow holds.
  16. There are so many variations of recipes to use with them. That's why I enjoy it more. If it were just one recipe that I did and didn't adventure off to try anything new, I'd probably grow sick of them. i guess you can say that with any food, but since I went wfpb, I've been more adventurous. ?
  17. Yeah I like unsweetened teas and I don't have a sweet tooth, so I could easily pass those things up. I'm not worried.
  18. I normally don't do these things, but I need this one. I'll join the challenge. ?
  19. How exciting...onederland. Congratulations @fruitandveggies !
  20. I too always had bad headaches with artificial sweeteners. Also learned years ago on the FDA website, that they're linked to causing symptoms of 90+ diseases..always hated putting that kind of thing in my body. Never liked the taste either. Tried stevia once, it's still up in my pantry. Call me an exception though, I don't do artificial. If I want sweet, I use honey or agave and regular creamer for me coffees. Gasps! ? Lol
  21. I didn't have severely cracked heels, but they were getting there. My husband was rubbing my feet one day (about 3mo post) and says "your feet aren't all hard like usual". That's when I noticed they're indeed softer. Kind of weird, still trying to figure out how diet and surgery made this happen.
  22. Mine are running short, but I've got to tap in the grace that the Lord has for me to use on others. lol
  23. Hey y'all. So I weighed in this morning. I've only been doing it these last few days because I'm so close to getting in the 100's!!! I weighed in this morning at 200. Not sure if I want to do tomorrow morning or skip a day...I'm actually excited. Didn't think I would be, cause the numbers aren't what I'm after, but given the whole picture, getting out of 200+ lbs should be exciting! Yay!!!
  24. Thanks y'all. It was fun and delicious! Except my parents, the Proteinaholics, came. It was after all their son's bday...and I had to hear the smirky remarks like "where's the beef?" Smh. That's just disrespectful and in my own house! Well, I need to let go, forgive, and move on though. My husband and I know what we're doing and that's that. Only the ignorance (uneducated) will start a fight or say stupid things.
