  2. Uh, weight loss surgery isn't just for old people, you know. Sometimes it's the best option, no matter what your age. What a silly thing to say? You're right, age isn't a matter. I don't consider myself old, at 38, and I'm getting it done to prevent health issues. I'm actually surprised to hear someone on this forum say "eat right and exercise". Well, we all know that's true! But hey, a tool to HELP us do that works!!! This is why I won't tell my parents...people feel like they always know what's best for someone else. I say, let's support and encourage one another for the decisions they've made. Sure, you can share your experience, with however you managed to lose weight, but let the individual make their own decision. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Congrats on the decision! You will do well. I had two miscarriages and two babies delivered. I never thought I had an emotional eating problem until the loss of my first baby. So I wholly understand your pain. But God is good, we have tools to use to put our bodies back where he'd like us to be, healthy!!! I can't have any more babies, but I'm getting the sleeve myself to prevent health issues that'll keep me from my kids and family now. Keep us posted on your journey. We're here to support you. . Happy new year to you too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. "I'm not going to end up like my mother". This pretty much sums up why I'm doing WLS; she's got a long list of problems due to her weight. I don't have any co-morbidities either with a bmi of 41; 38 years old. I know that if I continue I'm risking developments of such and I have very young children too. Congratulations to all of us who are making this decision to be healthy.
  5. After almost two years, I've finally decided, for the third and last time, last month to do this. Since, I've been trying to contain my impatience. I even called to see if they can reschedule me sooner if someone had decided to cancel. But now that I'm about two weeks out from even my first initial consult, I've finally settle down and am waiting as best as I can. Until then, I'm sharing with others my plans and getting support.

  18. I haven't even thought to make some, but after hearing 90 hours...don't think it's going to happen. Ha! I'm gonna order some and try them out. I only snapped a pic of what I found. Happened to be sweet. I love savory stuff though. I think I'll try both. This will be a good alternative then, as you've suggested to take a break from shakes. I'm trying to go plant based but am willing to do the bone broths for added Protein. Thanks for your input! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. Fellow poster, Msujester, told me about Dr Weiner. I ordered his book A POUND OF CURE on Amazon. It makes total sense to me. I'm currently reading and taking notes, as to what I want to ask the surgeon when I go in. If my surgeon seems okay with it, I'm going to implement changes. If he isn't, I'll follow his orders and then implement once I'm in maintenance or can handle it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Absolutely agree with you.
