I had surgery on 1/20 too! I weighed myself Monday and gained a pound! I was a pound heavier then when I began my pre-op diet. I was like wtf? Today (Wednesday), I weighed myself and I lost 7 pounds! Im thinking the fluids and gas they pumped into me during surgery was the weight gain and it took a few days to pass out if my body. Give it time, it will happen. Everybody's body is different... Hi! I'm 5 days post op. The day of surgery and that night wasn't pleasant. When I want sleeping I was incredibly nauseas and I did vomit blood - nasty. Next day was just sore. Every day it keeps getting better. For me, a daily antacid helps. Also, I have a small firm pillow I use when I sleep or watch TV - I put the pillow on my left side and apply gentle pressure and that seems to help with the soreness. Why? Why? Lol. I'm on Clear liquids for another 2 days, then on to full liquids. I am so hungry. No interest in the chicken stock- it tastes gross to me now. Sometimes I get miso down ok. Thanks. Why would you want to know the bad beforehand? Would you have changed your mind and not had surgery if someone prepared you for the discomfort by telling you how painful it was? Hi all. My surgery is Jan 20, and I'm in a Facebook group with others having sleeve surgery in January. The ones that have already had the procedure are describing horrible pain from gas. I have yet to read somebody who said it was tolerable. Everyone is in excruciating pain for the first few days, some even staying in the hospital 3 nights. Does anybody have a surgery story where the pain was bearable? I know it's going to be painful, but I'm not ready for the blinding pain that's being described by others. Help! I'm freaking out!!
