  1. Sherri hope things go well on your surgery. Let us know how you do. Thinking of you and sending best wishes for a smooth surgery and speedy recovery. Myra
  2. Heather just finished my first fill. They put 4 cc in my VanGuard. The tech actually had 5 cc in the syringe but only put four in. Barium swallow was done while I was laying on the table. Got up went to the waiting room to drink a cup of Water. Had to wait 30 minutes and then I was able to leave. M
  3. My surgeon is very active in the Bariatric Association. This past March they had their annual conference here in Dallas and he is pretty much up to standard on the lastest guidelines. So I think it is a pretty good starting point. I'll let you know tomorrow how mine goes this afternoon. Myra
  4. Hi Monica congrats on your decision to be banded. Look around LBT and don't hesitate to ask questions. These are good folks. Myra
  5. Depends on your band and your surgeon. I am going today for my first fill in a 10ml (cc) VanGuard band and they are going to put in 3ml (cc). It is what my surgeon does for the first fill for all his VanGuard bands. Some surgeons will fill aggressively some won't. M
  6. I didn't have a big appetite before banding. Most of my eating was just to eat since everyone else was eating. I could drink my weight in coffee/creamer. Now I have no appetite. Today I ate 16 whole grain wheat crackers (240)calories and 16 tsp chicken salad about 200 calories and one atkins Breakfast bar (150) calories. But I never felt hungry just knew I had to eat something. M
  7. Best wishes for a smooth surgery and swift recovery. Myra
  8. Since your in Texas you may want to check out the Wish Center. http://www.wishcentertexas.org/ Many folks use the Capital One Healthcare for financing. http://www.capitalonehealthcarefinance.com/ Every place is a little bit different in what they charge. SCOR in Richardson charges 15,000 for surgery and a year of fills. Myra
  9. Sherri how are you feeling now? Did you increase your intake? I did the South Beach phase 1 for my preop. Not long now. Wishing you best of luck. Myra

  11. Okay I am going to add mine now. I have been hesitant to do this so publically but here goes. June 28 - 260 July 5 - 254 I go for my first fill tomorrow. Yeah!!!!!!!! M
  12. Hi There. I didn't have my surgery done at SCOR. But I did have it done by Dr. Louis Fox who does do banding at SCOR. My husband carries the insurance and works at Medical City so that is where I had to go. I have heard good things about SCOR. That is where I will be having my fills. Good Luck to you. Myra
  13. Congrats on the NSV and on your birthday. M

  16. Thinking of you and wishing you the best VQ. Myra
  17. I have developed a fondness for Wyler's Pink Lemonade Light. When I have a craving for sugar and just can't stand it anymore I get a teaspoon of honey. M
  18. Seppi I have been unable to go back to coffee drinking. After one or two cups it starts all over. So I have given up on coffee. However I have substituted Carnation No Added Sugar Hot chocolate Mix in its place. Makes me feel good to have a hot mug to sip on. Myra
  19. May1806 we have moved to the July thread. I posted you on the calendar on the first page of that thread. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=248712#post248712 Myra
  20. Congrats Carl. The time will fly by and you'll be being banded. Best wishes for a smooth surgery and fast recovery. Myra
  21. Congrats on your decision. Let us know when you will be banded and how things go. M
  22. Seppi indeed talk to your doc. I had to eliminate coffee also. I tried all the meds before surgery. No acid reflux after surgery until I tried to drink coffee again. Had to take prilosec for a few days. Of course quit the coffee again and now no more problems. M
  23. Do a general search on Banajor and you will find several threads. Several people that have gone there have posted on those threads. At the top is a blue band that says UserCP FAQ Member List Calendar New Posts Search etc That search button will do a general search across all the forums. M
  24. Congrats to your sister for her soon to be banding and for having wonderful support from you. Best wishes for her to have a smooth surgery and speedy recovery. M
  25. Yes I have decided that I am going to give the buffalo meat a try. Had to talk to DH about it as he is very skeptical of anything new like that. I will probably get some in a couple of weeks when I make my next trip to Whole Foods. Thanks for the tip about the cooking. I bought one of those indoor grills and I will probably make burgers on it for the family. Put a little liquid smoke on it and see what it tastes like. Glad to hear Tired Old Man and his DW like it also. Lots to learn isn't there. Myra
