  1. Let us know how things go when your up to it. Myra
  2. Well my husband has been reading about negative calorie foods. I know there is controversy over this but that's not the point. So I made him a plate of stir fried veggies and he really liked them In a very LARGE skillet over medium heat 1 - 2 Tbs of butter with 1 Tbs canola oil First stir fry Vidalia Onions and Bell Pepper strips (about five minutes) Second add Broccoli Florets (about 2 - 3 minutes) Third add One can Whole Kernel Corn (about 2 - 3 minutes for these) One can Whole Green Beans One can Sliced Carrots One can Sweet Peas Add one box of sliced Mushrooms Sprinkle with Black Pepper. Continue to stir until everything in soft. Add olive oil if you need more oil. I added Olive Oil two or three times. Sprinkle Garlic Salt and or Cajun Seasoning when done. Also you could put some shredded cheese or Parmesan cheese on it. I sliced up Cubed Beef Steak and added some brown rice. Very filling. Myra
  3. Mine is not a Protein drink but it was all I could do the first week after sugery. 2 cups skim milk (18 Gms protein) 1 packet Carnation Instant Breakfast (5 Gms protein) I also added a couple of teaspoons of Hershey's powdered chocolate. I tried several different Protein drinks before surgery at great expense. I don't know what happened to my taste buds but this was ALL I COULD DRINK without feeling nauseous. It gave me enough protein and calories for the short time before moving on to thicker liquids and then mushies. My advice is don't stress over that first week. Drink what you can (uncarbonated of course) because the swelling is going to be there. Once the swelling starts going down you are able to get more calories and protein in. Myra
  4. Congrats on the weightloss and the pregnancy. I don't have any tips just wanted to express good wishes. Myra
  5. Miper I don't have any recognizable signs of being "full" yet either. I have to measure my food onto my plate and stop when it is empty. I do get the stuck feeling also. Particularly in the morning. I usually eat my first couple of bites too close together and I think the food then kinda of sticks together into one big piece that has a hard time passing into the pouch. I know I did that with two pieces of well chewed chicken breast. Took about 30 minutes to an hour for it to pass on down and it HURT!!!!!!!!! So I am looking for creative ways to make sure I take really small bites with adequate time between each. One way I have tried today is to get a baked whole grain goldfish and scoop my food onto it. Makes for a really small bite of food. Crackers may not be the best choice but my doc says as long as I am losing weight they are okay. Fifty-five goldfish are 140 calories so they are relatively low in calories. Myra
  6. Congrats on the good news. I hope everything will go smoothly for you. Keep us updated on the insurance battle. Myra
  7. Alicia check the calendar on page 1 of this thread. Myra
  8. Hi EndoCollector congrats on your decision. I was recently banded and losing around two pounds a week. I had a fill 1 1/2 weeks ago. So I am taking the slow route but that's okay. It took a while to get to where I am. I can't say anything bad about banding yet other than getting a piece of dry chicken stuck last night. It HURT for about 30 minutes and then was all better. But it's not a mistake that I will make again for sure. Let us know how things go for you. Myra
  9. My doc told me I could have sharp pains for upwards of a couple of months. M
  10. Hi Marc I just wanted to say I hear you and understand some of your pain. I am a straight married woman so I really don't have perspective on that part of your dilemma. But I have been overweight all my life and I do understand the wall we build to protect ourselves and the worthlessness that wall can make us feel when we can't/don't connect with someone else on a emotional or physical level. I have only recently been banded and really I'm at the beginning of my journey. I can say that already there are physical things that I can do that I couldn't just a few short weeks ago. There are many kind and caring individuals on this forum who have struggled also. I wish I could give you a hug right now but since I can't I will send you a cyber hug. (((((((HHHHHHUUUUUUGGGGGG))))))))) Keep your chin up and things WILL GET BETTER. Hang out with us here. Myra
  11. It took me a while to figure out how to eat and drink without swallowing a lot of air also. I didn't realize I was an air gulper. Myra
  12. No advice but definite congratulations. When will you be due? Myra
  13. Diane I will hold on to the FRENCH MAID'S OUTFIT for you until your ready for it. Myra
  14. I have been thinking about the Water workouts also. I saw my surgeon for the second time since surgery yesterday and got the all clear. The local P & R pool has a class starting in two weeks and I think I am going to take it. $45 for three one hour classes for a month. I think thats pretty reasonable. Myra
  15. Diane wrap those kids and your husband close around you and let them shower you with the love and attention you deserve. Sounds like you are keeping your thoughts positive. Good things will be in your future. Don't give up the faith. Let us know how you are doing when you can. You are in our thoughts and prayers always. Myra
  16. Glad your home safely FD. Been wondering how you were doing. Get some rest while you can. Myra
