  7. I am 5 weeks post op and lately I get stressed and regret what I did. I had such a food addiction. I miss it so much. And then I see Oprah commercials and she lost 40 lbs eating whatever she wants. But yet I can't even get a piece of chicken down. PLEEASSSEE tell me this feeling will go away!!! 11. Lots of food and gross bad food like McDonald's is what got us here in the first place. It's an addiction and normal to feel like you miss it. But post surgery the hormone that tells your brain to eat is gone. So what we are experiencing is head hunger and acid reflux that can make you think hunger. I'm one month post op and sometimes get so sad because I can't eat what the rest of the family is eating. But then I remind myself of how BAD real bad that crap is. I move my thinking to how good I'm going to feel and look and how already I am more focused and losing weight during this recovery of surgery. I'm starting back at the gym this week and looking forward to toning up. It's just a matter of time for us to heal from this major surgery! We had a portion of a bodily organ taken out of us. Let's heal. But I know it's hard. It's real hard. Focus on present moment and try to stay busy during those moments of "I'm hungry and want pizza" phase. It will pass! Good luck all. I'm with ya! 14. I had mine 1/11 I am on soft food now. chicken with gravy fish etc. same thing happens to Me. I tried to ear chicken with sweet potato but didn't follow the rules and my stomach killed. Protein first then move to veggie or starch. It's a new lifestyle and I have to get used to it. I admit I still get head hungry and I get sad when I can't eat pizza with the rest of my family. But I remember that that food my body doesn't need. I'm losing weight I'm getting as much liquids and protein in that I can but I know that my body is still healing and that I am told over time it will get a lot easier. Be patient Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
