How is your journey going? I am tentatively scheduled for February 2nd!! I have a question and I'm not sure if you may more may not know the answer but I am a former smoker and my nerves got the best of me and I picked up the bad habit again! I quit yesterday and I wasn't sure if Dr Long did a nicotine test or not! There wasn't anything mentioned in our meeting about it either way but I was curious?? Thank you!! They called at 4:30 this evening and I posted on some Bariatric sites on Facebook for doctor recommendations!! I am not giving up!! I could understand the doctor not doing the surgery if I had a really bad case but my Barrett's is very mild and showed no dysphasia!! I do not have any Cardiology problems other than high blood pressure, I don't have sleep apnea!! The only issues that I have are Barrett's, high blood pressure, high cholesterol!! That's it!! I am 31 and weigh 309 lbs and I figured that I wouldn't be a difficult case!! I am going to call around and try to find a different doctor and I will tell them up front that I have Barrett's so it's not a waste of time like this was!! He said he wouldn't do the sleeve or Bypass!! Actually no surgery at all!! It made me sick because I have been through everything they required and was waiting on a surgery date and that's the phone call that I received!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I found out in the pre-op stage that I have Barrett's (a mild case) and I have went through every bit of the pre-op requirements and now my doctor told me that he will not do the surgery because I have Barrett's!! Dr. Miles is my doctor too! I have 2 more appointments to finish up my pre-op phase and the last one is on 12/20 to meet with the ENT to see if I need a sleep study!
