  2. I am happy to report that my surgery was yesterday and all went without event. As if yesterday afternoon I was walking around and going to the bathroom by myself. Feeling pretty good except just uncomfortable from hard bed and dry mouth. Feeling excited Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I can't believe I'm here! I feel like I'm dreaming. I'm very excited and anxious. I look forward to fast forwarding 1 year and seeing the outcome. Things I look forward to doing: crossing my legs like a lady; wearing pretty shoes again; shaving my legs without getting winded....doing ANYTHING without getting winded. Heck - I'm just excited!
  4. My doctor is female in NJ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Enjoy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Another time I did less egg white and a strip of chicken diced up with veggies. Soo good Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Just this morning I was thinking the same thing: "I've been doing really good on the pre-op diet, so u really need this?" But then u remembered that's I've done really well in every other diet I've went on and then gained it back. I HAVE to do this for me. You have to do this for you. Pray, meditate or just ask the universe for strength. You'll be fine xoxo Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm so happy for you! You did it!!!!! Rest and check in later Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. That's funny! I packed TwO sets of pjs because I HATE the smell of hospital scrubs! I packed the chapstick and someone told me to buy breathe strips or spray because you get stale taste in ur mouth from not eating I'm Wednesday..... good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. If you stopped drinking caffeine that could be the cause of your surgery. Also, remember that your in maybe 1000 calories a day. That may be a drastic drop to what you're used to also. Call your surgeon, just to be careful Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Call your surgeon, he will be able to answer all your questions and give you peace of mind Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I got my surgery date on the first day that I saw my surgeon. I started the process immediately. 4 months from day 1 to surgery date. Best of Luck! xoxo
  12. @@baileymedlin24 awesome! I'm 12/21! How are you doing on your pre-op diet?
  13. You're not alone, you have all of us with you! Best of Luck today! Please reach out and let us know how you made out. xoxo
  14. @@Carrie1122 I know exactly what you mean. Just an example: My mother who is NOW supportive said "I hope you have the strength to make the life changes you need to make and not fail at this". Geeee thanks Ma! LOL I've been fat/chubby/heavy whatever you want to call it, all my life. Tried everything at least twice. This is not the EASY way by far. We'll get there!
  15. @@Tosha-248 how do you like those? my doctor wants us to only use Protein that contains at LEAST 25 g per serving. after the surgery, We are supposed to mix one scoop with 4 oz of milk/water to make sure we get at least 75 g per day while recooperating. Does your brand come in powder also? Do you like it?
  16. I haven't told many people. Only immediate family knows plus one nay sayer. I realized I didn't want to field the "oh you're just going the easy route" comment. That's just ignorance. Besides, I know what I want and what I'm doing and am not looking for approval. I apologize in advance for negative people who will hurt your feelings. I know what it's like to feel like you are finally doing something good for yourself and being shot down by others. Best of Luck!!!
  17. Yayy! awesome news! I remember when I got my authorization I started crying! For Real! LOL I am on day 2 of my pre-op diet. My surgery is 12/21 and so far I'm doing good. I really enjoy the shakes I am using, they are vanilla by Jay Robbs. They are all natural so there is no after-taste. My doctor allows for 3 oz of either chicken or fish with veggies for on meal or 4 egg whites (1 cup) so I plan on getting creative so that I don't get "bored". Otherwise, smooth sailing. I DO feel a little of a headache which I am suspecting it's from the lack of caffeine but I feel good. Once again, good luck! xoxo
  18. Congrats to you! A great surgeon with a good group is so important! Mine is awesome also. I went in August and was looking to book me for October but I chose December. It was a smooth process. My surgery date is the 21st, a week before yours. Best of Luck to you! xoxo
  19. @@Malin look at YOU! You look good! When was your surgery?
  20. @xoxococojay for sure! I added you to my friend's list.
  21. @@Hiraeth I have someone like that at work too. I also have this lady who I KNOW has had bariatric surgery. I can just "tell". But she won't talk about it or admit it. I used to knock her for not being honest and just saying it but now I realize why she doesn't. It's like Jenn said, some people are against it out of legitimate concern, others for fear you may succeed. good luck to you! xoxo
  22. Guys - thank you all for your input! I now realize that this isn't an issue isolated to my "friends". I love this support group! Good luck to all of you getting sleeved this month! xoxo
