  3. if you have some restriction, I would wait, or you may be in the same position as before, when I get to point of being able to eat larger portions then I know its time to get the band tightened, but If I have satisfaction after eating 2 shrimp, then I would'nt get the band tightened, its a very umcomfortable position to be in, but its part of the cause, but in the same sense you shouldnt be miserable, and unable to eat or drink, that is not what the band is supposed to do unless it is too tight..

  5. I lost 120lbs, and actually had to have the band loosened, after 3 years of not wanting to have it loosened, because I was happy with it, my hubby kept telling me I was too skinny, <imagine that>...I finally had it loosened, and I gained 50lbs!!!!! so needless to say the whole purpose of having the banb, is to keep me from over eating, it wasnt what I ate, I am not a big snacker, I just loved HUGE portions, so the band kept me from over eating, and it was very effective in doing so, dont get discouraged, It took me about 3 fills to finally get that "sweet" spot, and once I did, just as some of the people above posted, the weight came off fast, its the easiest thing Ive ever did... 6. My name is Lynda, I had the lap band surgery in 2008, best decision I ever made, I was 240lbs the day of my surgery, I am 5' 7" and 3/4, so rounded to 5'8", lol, I was so miserable, I have lost 120lbs, which was too much, I actually had my band loosened so I could gain weight, my dr said I was in a very small percentage of a VERY successful weightloss with the band, I was equal to loosing weight as a gastric bypass patient, I was 120 to 125 for 3 years, but had a hard time with keeping food down which is signs of a too tight of a band, but I just thought it was tight because it needed to loosen as I lost weight,. but time passed and I just needed to PUT weight on instead of loose it, I am currently at 130 and I am extremly happy with this weight, I dont look like im from a concentration camp, which is what my hubby told me,,,grrrr!!!! rudo!! I love my band, and I wouldnt change it for anything.
