  1. The great thing about y'alls responses is that whether you did a food funeral or not. It had no effect on your success lol
  2. People expecting me to fail is why I don't want to say a word. Because even I expect myself to fail. I can't have anyone squashing the sliver of hope I have.
  3. For self pays/ those that don't have to do a pre-op diet and those who have not begun their pre op diet. How are you enjoying your days before the big change? If at all? I feel kind of guilty eating anything outside of low carb even though I won't have this luxury in a few weeks. It's becoming more obvious that I don't necessarily enjoy the types of foods I eat but am dependent and crave it. Makes me feel sad but even more so excited that I'll have a physical repellent to help me correct my eating habits.
  4. I don't plan on telling a soul. Not even my mom except maybe to say I'm going to Mexico for the weekend and to check up on me. Any vets who went the same route? How did you deal with questions? Any pre-op folks deciding to keep it to themselves?
  5. For insurance, generally 35 with co-morbidity and 40+ without. Self pay generally seems to be 30+ Of sorry I didn't answer the question. Thought you meant something else lol
  6. I am too OP! All I can think about is dying from a bloodclot on the journey back or fainting or something. But I know it is all fear and it won`t stop me from going through with this! I think of the hair loss too but guess what hair can grow back! I`ll wear a wig for the rest of my life if it means I have some control over my hunger and adds a few more years to my life. And too be honest Vitamins are something we should have been taking before post-op since the average western diet is not worth a bent nickel. Don`t let that deter you! We will be ok!
  7. Thank you the reassurance. My doctor provides compression socks and I will be taking blood thinners before my flight. I plan on bring Protein powder and bouillon cubes with me. Thank you I will. I'm actually more concerned about it being overnight and staying up in my already weak state.
  8. I posted this in the support groups I am apart of, but would like to hear from you all also. Quick lighthearted question I have my departing flight from San Diego at 7:25PM to Phoenix at 10:00PM where I will a layover until 1:45AM. From there I'll arrive in Chicago at 6:00AM where I'll have another layover until 8:30 where my final flight arrives in Toronto at 11:00AM. Where depending on how I feel will take an uber or bus home (I don't live that far from the airport). The question is: Will I die?
  9. I swear I replied yesterday. I guess it didn't go through. I'm also booked with Dr. M. I switched my date and bought my ticket yesterday. I am booked for January 5th.
  10. Switched to Jan 5th because I couldn't wait.
  11. Aww, that's what I'm scared of. I have not told a soul tbh. I plan to make one of my sleeve buddies contact my emergency contact on my surgery date if anything happens but besides that I'm telling no one. I feel I should be brave and contribute in taking the stigma away from VSG but my family are all slim and judgmental.
  12. Yes videos and pictures! I seriously can't wait.
  13. I guess I am a hater too lol. I just made my decision two weeks ago and paid my deposit last Friday (I'm a self-pay). I would go sooner if I could. My motivation of choice are the jealousy stories though lol
  14. @@jhemp85 how are you dealing with the wait? I feel like I am drivig myself nuts waiting for the beginning of this change lol Who are you scheduled with?
  15. Anyone going around that time? I'm going to Dr. M. Doesn't feel real yet. Lol Maybe it will when I buy my plane ticket.
  16. @@ella37 how old are you if you don't mind sharing
  17. @@proudgrammy thank you for the reassurance and welcome. My research has just begun and I am planning to have surgery in a few months. I wish it was sooner but my passport is still too new to enter another country. Thank you for your responses. ????
  18. Hello, I am 24 with a BMI of 34 currently and hoping to be 30 by surgery date. Does the skin of those who had VSG with lower BMIs usually bounce back? Thank you for your responses.
