  1. Thats my goal too! I want to go on a cruise when I graduate college in 2 (and probably a half) years, and I want to wear a bikini!!!
  2. Congrats to all the ladies being banded today!!!!!!! Happy cinco de mayo!!!!!!!!!
  3. I've actually heard that most people can eat popcorn, you can just get the fat free kind or something.
  4. Oregonrose I have my pre-op meeting with the surgeon on the 12th too, but its not a class or anything, just one on one, I think the only time you are involved with other people is at the initial seminar, which I went to in like, September, and then the monthly support groups, which I have yet to attend. Good luck with the pre-op diet! You're brave, if I didn't have to do it, I probably wouldn't, or at least wouldn't for longer than a day or 2! Kudos!!!!

  6. I'm really struggling with telling people right now. The only people I have told are my mom, my sister, and 2 close friends. Everyone but my sister is supportive. When I told her she just started at me with this evil look, I was so taken back, I had to say, "isn't that exciting?" Just to break the silence. She replied with, "no, thats f**king stupid, you're so f**king lazy, get off your fat ass and do it yourself." Needless to say I will never discuss it with her ever again, I live with her so it will be hard but I was so hurt by her comment. My mother has told my father, he is obviously not supportive (he and my sister are both athletes and best buddies, gag me) but, as with most situations in my life, he just ignores them, and me. I told a few friends when I started all the research back in September. I had mostly negative responces, but then again most of my friends are between ages 17-22 and have never struggled with their weight. The only 2 that were supportive are the two that I am confiding in now, one is a childhood friend who is an athlete but the biggest sweatheart in the world, and is also a biology major who wrote a paper on the positive outcomes of Lap Band before I even mentioned it. The other is my narcisistic gay male friend who I think is just super excited about me being able to go shopping in designer stores with him hahha. When it comes time to tell the other couple friends, and I really only plan on telling about 3 more people, I'm going to be really blunt about it, "so I've been doing a lot of research the past few months and I finally decided to get my stomach banded. I've been gaining so much weight lately I really think this is the right decision and will help me in the end." I don't want to have to explain everything in detail, but I don't want to be a liar either, I have a couple weeks before surgery so I'll use this time to prepare for everything, including telling people.
  7. I'm the type of person that when I have chicken noodle soup, will eat the soup and then dump the remaining broth down the sink. I'm eating some right now and I'm trying to get used to the idea of eating, well drinking the broth, in a few weeks this will be the only "real" food I get!!!
  8. Adult swim gets me through life in general lol
  9. save the logo to your computer, then go to a hosting site, I use www.imageshack.us its really simple to use, just click browse, choose the image you saved, then click "host it" after they host your image they give you a lot of options, scroll down beneath the big advertisment in the middle and use the hotlink for forums 1. Copy all this mumbo jumbo into the edit signiture section on this site, Hope this helped!
  10. Hahaha I would have to agree with you, shake is much more me too... Hahaha remember the episode where shakes "son" came to visit? Meatwad named him Ezekial and then Shake tried to drown him in Carl's pool because he couldn't afford to take care of him.. hahahhaha ATHF is my favorite show ever.
  11. AHHH thanks!!!!! I love meatwad he's adorable, especially in the episode where he goes on that diet hahaha, so glad someone on here knows who he is lol!!!!
  12. thin dolphin, good for you for having such strong will power!!! I'm freaking out about the liquid diet!!! Mine sounds similar to yours, sugar free everything, popsicles, jello, fudgesicles, protein shakes, and broth is about all I can have (I can have like a teaspoon of cottage cheese... but I hate that stuff anyways...) Haha oh mylanta...!
  13. hey shannon your the day right after me!!!
  14. Lisamae, that must be really nice to have such a great support system!! I would love to know someone close to me who was also banded, I think it would really help with a lot of things, especially just having someone who knows what your are going through! How is your sister doing with her band??
  15. Congrats on being succesfully banded! Are you taking anything for the gas now? How is it feeling?? Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!! ALlison

  19. Yay for your date! Your about a week before me so I'll be super excited to hear how everything is going while I'm on my pre-op diet!!!
  20. I was just watching the ch. 10 news and they had a commercial for waterfire. I can't wait to go and not have to worry about my thighs chafing super bad and having my feet swell and get super sore and falling behing from all my friends then whining to go home early! Just thought I could relate something local to some lap band goals of mine
  21. I've decided to TOTALLY re-do my bedroom, paint and everything. I'm a total slob, and my room has been the same since the beginning of high school, its full of so much crap, I barely un packed from when I moved back from college so there are big rubbermaid containers full of sh*t everywhere, its literally a disaster area, I'm gonna work on it after school gets out on May 9th I heard on some show that a lot of clutter in your house clutters you life, I think its true! I'm usually so disorganized and messy, so I'm going to try to get everything really organized, I'm even putting the mini fridge from college into my bedroom so I can keep track of all my Protein shakes and such, here is a bit of a list I have going : Stuff for lap band on May 29th!!!!! 1.) Clean room!!! Do all laundry!!!! Dust, throw away crap, move everything out of room, wipe down walls, paint, rent carpet steamer, paint walls, buy new artwork, put everything back in, buy new curtains 2.) Buy Vitamins, viactiv Calcium chews, etc. 3.) Protein shakes!!!! Lots of them!!! 4.) Buy some scar cream for post op scar treatment! 5.) Stuff I can eat, tons of diet iced tea and crystal light lemonade, some hot tea, chicken broth, Gatorade, sugar free Jell-O, sf popsicles, sf fudgesicles, cranberry juice Planning everything is really helping, how is everyone else preparing??
  22. Haha I just went to post your story and saw you beat me too it!!! Everyone there will love and appreciate any tips!!!
  23. No worries I can do it for you Its in the threads if you scroll down on the main forum page, its under the monthly lap band support groups, then 2008, then May 2008, there is a lot of excitment, and nerves, because we are all being banded in the next couple weeks!!!! Thanks again for such a positive experience, I know everyone is different, but a positive story will always help lift some spirits
