Dates here!
Any Sleever for December 2016. I'm not sure everyone understands the diff between the forums and the groups. If they list their MBP username, I shoot the group's link to them and let them know that they can access the group via a laptop/desktop computer. I understand, I was just asking cause you posted that in a fourm that was posted to the group lol so i just wanted people to understand the calendar I did and that i post on people surgery day to show them support was strictly for group members so that it can be a private group support type thing because there way to many people in December haha I'm getting so many private messages asking why they aren't part of it, so thats why i asked lolThere is a ton of sub groups out there and lots of active folks. A couple of facebook groups have also sprouted up. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Out of pocket expense
I'm in Texas as well. went to my presurgery last week and still haven't gotten a hospital total yet.No word from my anesthetic dr either. My surgery is next week. My actual surgeon is collecting her full cost tomorrow. I have Aetna and I'm required to pay my surgeon $5000 plus a co-pay of about $1000 more. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Do I tell or say nothing.
I really hadn't told anyone except my supervisor at work (and I only told her that I was having some surgery for a health related issue). If I need supportive people, I can find them here, in this community of folks who knows exactly what I am going through. They've said it best...your life, your business....tell or not tell anyone you want. We will be here to support your decision.

Daily Sugar/Carb Intake
I was given specific instruction from my surgeon: Protein 80 g/day low Carbs less than 50 grams/day no sugar (5 grams limit/meal) and low fat less than 30 grams/day I'm not sure that applies during all the different stages. I was told that nutrition goals are going to be revisited during follow up appmts.

no support at hone, overwhelmed,
If you are the cook, then you can influence what is eaten in the house. Earlier someone said that they learned to eat what was provided to them (as a child). What better way to introduce your family to a gradual change than by bringing in new dishes that are healthier than what they have previously had. Do you go to a support group? My support group welcomes family members so they can have intimate insight to what the surgery means and what support is required. Sending positive thoughts and prayers that things get better for you.... you deserve it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Drinking BEFORE eating
The way it was explained to me is that Water doesn't sit for too too long in you new stomach, but it does sit like anything else. You would get full off the liquid and not desire to eat your nutrients. I was also told that water would help move food from the stomach into your intestines without a lengthy digestion stage in the stomach. I'm not a dr, so I just took the bariatric nurse's word on his, since I had the same question as you did. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
