  2. OK, where's that smilie with his hands over his ears, going LA LA LA LA....lol That's what my daughter (age 23) does when mom and I start talking sex....LMAO
  3. Omentectomy: Surgery to remove part or all of the omentum, a fold of the peritoneum (the thin tissue lining the abdomen) that surrounds the stomach and other organs in the abdomen. Sounds painful to me...
  4. Dianne, Joy had her first fill about a week ago and we went to breakfast for the first time, this morning. She ordered a soft scrambled egg and some grits. She didn't finish the egg and she barely even put a dent in the grits. I'm not sure you'll get down a half a piece of fish....
  5. Well, I've always enjoyed using the crock pot for making a stew...or chili...but I'm a glutton for punishment...LOL
  6. Did you find anything using the search feature?
  7. Kelli, how's it going with the healing? What are you going to have for your first mushie meal? Joy had garlic mashed potatoes from Chili's....
  8. Welcome to LBT Carroline and Brenda.
  9. Brenda, lapband, they put a band around your stomach. Bypass, they cut and reconnect part of your intestines, bypassing part of it. We got my wife's doctor from www.obesityhelp.com . Yes, we have insurance with Blue Cross of Texas. If you have to self pay with our doctor, Dr. Jayaseelan, it is $15,000 for the whole shootin' match. Doctor, hospital and anastesiologist (sp).
  10. brenda, just use the search feature and type in what you want to search for. I'd be willing to bet you that there is all kinds of information on monterrey doctors.
  11. Zoe, are you ok? I just wanted to thank you for sharing that....LOL What are friends for, right? Lets see....hmmmmm....flour....water....paste....PB....got it!
  12. Υποδοχή, Theodore.
  13. Pam, that was a year and a half ago. Don't you think there might be some doctors in central IL that will give you a fill? Heck, for that matter, come to Dallas and see my wife's doctor. I know for a fact that he'll do it. Contact Dr. Jayaseelan through his website www.texaslapbandcenter.com .
  14. Yes, Jenny, there are quite a few that have Cosmetic Surgery after losing weight. Some don't!
  15. I'm sorry Jill, but excuse me while I bust a gut laughing.....from this side of THIS fence that is exactly OPPOSITE of what goes on. I'm the one that is over-sexed. It's just that everyone is different...
  16. Charlee, especially withthe smaller band, you have to have several very small fills to hit that "sweet spot". Just the right restriction without cutting everything off, you know? Just think of the Lapband Fairy as being this really old, really slow woman.....LOL
  17. Deb and Donna, welcome to LBT! I'm the DH (darling husband) to MsJoy (the banded one). I know from reading in here that yes, you can have alcohol, but most of the doctors restrict its use during the healing period. I'm sure you don't need to be told what it feels like throwing a little alcohol on an open wound. Then after they have healed some of the members here have a glass of wine or two, some beer...whatever you can stand, I guess.
  18. Jacqui, it gets even better when the kids are grown. I can walk in and get a cup in a sleeping attire and then sit at the puter and just enjoy the mornings.
  19. And Dr. Jayaseelan, his offices are at Medical City Dallas. He does surgery at Surgery Center of Richardson and Pine Creek Medical Center and one other place. He did my wife's banding. Excellent experience for both of us. Great staff and PA. So far the after care has been good. www.texaslapbandcenter.com
  20. MsJoy had a full week of liquids after her fill. She has the Vanguard band and got 6cc. Oh, and she says to tell you not to eat at least 4 hours BEFORE you are suppose to get your fill.
  21. And then you'll get a fill and get to go back on the liquids....LOL Well, some do and some don't. Just take it easy and heal right now.
  22. Welcome Sandy and congratulations on getting banded. I know it is a bit frustrating but that's what is good about the band. Slow and steady wins the race. How are you doing with your diet? Eating the RIGHT things? Getting plenty of protein? Exercising? Just keep at it and it will come.
  23. Will do, well.....uh.....I'll make sure MsJoy does. She's the one with the band, I'm the support team...LOL
  24. I can't imagine anyone in here (LBT) being obsessive....waaahaaaaahaaaaaa
  25. I see you found the smilies, too, Terri....LOL That's great news! Hopefully, this one isn't going to charge an arm for a fill?
