  1. Does anyone take the Barimelt Vitamins? They melt in your mouth and are absorbed instead of being dissolved and absorbed in your stomach and intestines. Has anyone's nutritionist recommended them or said stay away from them? I'm trying to research my best options and get stuff purchased before my surgery date. Thanks in advance for any input! 2. You look great!!! Can't wait to have my surgery! Please keep us updated on your progress. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I have always heard that complex carbs like the ones found in fruits and veggies are the best carbs to incorporate into your diet. The surgery carbs and bread carbs are the ones you want to stay away from. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I like the premiere Protein ready to drink shakes. You can print coupons off the internet for them to help with cost. The are only 160 Calories and have 30 grams of protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. No need to stress about the psych eval. The doctor I saw started out by just talking to me and asking general questions about my health and weight in the past, why I was considering surgery now, and other questions to see if I understood the process and was knowledgeable about the surgery. Then I had to do 3 questionnaires. They were just to make sure that there are no underlying psych issues that were causing me to be overweight such as food dependency and other issues like alcoholism that may become worse after surgery. I was told that it wouldn't keep me from having surgery but would let them know if I needed his assistance after surgery to work through issues that could potentially be problems. Best wishes and good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I initially wanted to have the sleeve but my doctor said that since I already have severe acid reflux that RNY was the only option for me. So RNY it is for me on November 30th. Best wishes and good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Congrats! My surgery is scheduled for November 30. I'm not too worried about the surgery but I'm worried about the period right after surgery when the pain hits and you wonder "what in the world have I done" moment. Did you go through that feeling? 8. I went home after my consultation and set up my appointments as soon as I could. But I only had to do the surgery clearance from my primary doctor, blood work, psych eval, and upper GI so what what worked for me may need to be spread out more for you. Best wishes and good luck!
