  11. I have bcbs Florida and in the policy i had them send to me via snail mail says they do not cover wls- no exceptions. I called my insurance company and they told me that i had to have a doctor say it's medically necessary and have proof. So- im hoping hoping hoping. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Ugh. My hair is already soooo thin. I gad cushings syndrome about 4 yrs ago from taking steroids for too long (like prednisone). Once I realized i was getting Cushing's syndrome I stopped the medicine (stupidly) abruptly therefore causing my hair to begin to fall out, actually thinning until you could see my scalp. Although i dont think it completely grew back all the way, it did mostly grow back within about a year. I will probably go bald once i get the surgery. The reason u have hair loss after surgery is because fat stores a lot of hormones and when you lose fat the hormones go nuts. It happens to women more often than men. 14. I met with surgeon initially for consult. After i see nutrition and psych i will meet with surgeon again preop. Least i think thats what they told me. Like you rebcal it happened so fast and i was so excited about being there, I didn't really pay attention to everything. It was a bit overwhelming and so much to take in. And the staff there do this stuff so routinely they forget to ask if we have any questions or what our fears might be. I am also a nurse and it does happen. It becomes so routine that we take for granted sometimes that every day ppl don't understand whats going on or understand nursing language. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. i understand COMPLETELY!! All i ever want to do is sleep or at least lay down. My legs and ankles swell as soon as im on my feet, even sitting. I feel so awful. I hate going in public. Sometimes i see my reflection and think , its not THAT bad. But it IS that bad. I feel so ashamed and i just want to feel healthy and be able to do the same things you've mentioned. In public i smile and force myself to be social and appear to be confident. But when im alone i just want to die. I mean im not suicidal or anything. Its more a figure of speech meaning im so sad and defeated and I feel so gross. I want to feel alive again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Ok. Thanks. Very good info. Im thinking im going to try to obtain medical records of previous attempts of dr supervised diet and bring to nutrition appointment. Maybe it'll help Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Ive had some not so good experiences with dating sites. 110% was related to my weight. I seem to be the perfect match for every guy I'm interested in..... until we meet in person. Ive even sent pictures of me before hand so i dont get such rejection. Doesn't matter. Also, most men on dating sites are either only looking for hookups, lying, married or just want fwb. Very few are truly after finding 'the one'. Not to say that its true in every case, because i have found some genuine ppl on there. But online dating is not for the weak or for anyone with low self-esteem. Just my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. what kind of insurance do u have? And did you only have one nutrition appointment? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Strange, it's taking me such a long time to do my appointments because they are apparently booked up. I have my first nutrition appointment December 15th and i cant even schedule a psych appointment til after nutrition appointment, according to my surgeons plan. Also I have a sleep study scheduled for December 22. I started this whole process beginning of October. Ive seen pulmonologist , had barium swallow study, labs already. November 18th I have endoscopy done. Im soooo nervous that after all of these appointments (which are all over 45 minute drive) that my surgery will be denied by my insurance. I'm praying it gets approved and also that I won't have to do six whole months of nutrition appointments. If thats the case, it would be AT LEAST May before i would have the surgery. Ugh. I want this like YESTERDAY!!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
