  1. About 4 years ago I read in Consumer Reports to only consider those with more than 1000 watts. I bought a Ninja Professional that includes a large 9 cup capacity jar and a 16 oz single serving. The base accommodates both. It is still working well. I make a smoothie base once a week of liquids and solids in the 9 cup. Refrigerate it in a tall skinny tupperware. Every day I take one cup of that ba se and add one cup of fresh ingredients like kale and milk, and frozen fruit like 1/2 a banana, blueberries etc and process in the 2 cup single serve. It's 400 calories so more like a maintenance food. I'm hoping post-sleeve it will keep me full all Morning (in batches).
  2. Krissy have you ever been average weight as an adult? There is something about my facial bone structure where I look so much better at a lower weight. People have even commented on it. Meanwhile, I have a friend that gained weight with me, and still has a very pretty face. She looks like Anna Nicole Smith, and similar to her is still pretty when obese. I lost a lot of weight recently and did look a little haggard about age 50, but still better. It was weird having crepey legs. But then I gained it back. So, here I go again.
  3. I read that some Doctors don't require the pre-op diet for those with BMI less than 35. Just me with surgeon and got my date! March 13th it is! Pre-op class and anesthesiologist meeting March 3rd! No pre-op diet with this surgeon.

  10. I'm more worried about the the pre-op diet. I have an appetite issue. I was 2.5 hours late to work today because of it. It has been going on for about 10 years. I have talked to numerous doctors about it but have not found a good solution. I even tried to form a persimmon phytobezoar. I can lose weight if my appetite is down because I am more of a volume eater than junk food eater. And I excercize almost every day. I have done well on liquid diets before if Phentermine or alchohol were involved. This is going to be really hard! Pray for me. Mardi Gras will take on a special meaning as I start on the pre-op diet the next day. I just happened to Google Phentermine and anesthesia together today and saw the warnings. Maybe I should have known. My niece is a nurse anesthetist and my neighbor just died during anesthesia three months ago. The doctors or coordinators should be warning about this. 15. A Lady at work turned me on to all of this especially the Mexico aspect. Both of us dieted and lost at the same - she with the help from VSG. I regained all my weight and she still looks really good and she hasn't had any issues. I'll probably share for that reason(she shared and helped) also I'm going to take a lot of time off from work so everyone will guess anyway. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  16. I was so scared about starting back smoking again that I avoided alcohol. coffee and excercize helped me quit also. I ended up losing a significant amount of weight about 20 lbs. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  17. Is he board certified in bariatric surgery? If I paid a deposit with someone else using PayPal can I get it back? Sent from my QTAIR7 using the BariatricPal App I saw a New York Times article that recommended using an International Center of Excellence Bariatric Surgery-certified surgeon. GOOGLE "Ice bariatric". They seem to charge more. I saw a YouTube video that chronicled two refund events. Unfortunately the title did not reflect the contents of the YouTube video. In one of her experiences she got a full refund and the other the company refused to refund bc she vented on a blog ?and she advised against using Wireless Transfer. 18. I have a question about prescriptions: I would like a Mexican prescription from the surgeon for use state side, fill in US, for pre-op Phentermine because I have a huge appetite and don't think I'll fare well on the pre op liquid diet. I have an expired (prescribed a year and a month ago) US prescription for Retin A I want to fill while in Mexico. In 1997 one did not need a prescription for it but I'm not sure if that is still the case. Does anyone know if these two scripts could be filled like that? 19. I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I'm wondering what's the best type of clothes to wear after the operation. I prefer pants over dresses. I just bought a pair of stretchy but tight jeggings but they have a zipper and button closure at belly button. I might take them back as I think they might be too uncomfortable. I have another pair of jeggings that don't have a zipper and button. Thanks in advance for suggestions. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  20. For my colonoscopy I was horrified to find out my gastroenterologist would be doing the procedure. I had assumed it would be an assistant. As a chronic side issue, I had complained to that gastroenterologist that I was waking up in the middle of night hungry and could not go back to sleep. Apparently, assuming I was only concerned about my weight issue he turned to my husband and smiled and said he should lock the bedroom door. (to keep me out of the kitchen). I hated the idea of him seeing me naked. For my fibroid surgery I accidentally scheduled it on the first day of Aunt Jo's visit (menses). I had to stick a pad between my legs, otherwise naked. My surgeon was a woman but my anesthesiologist was Hollywood gorgeous/ Dr. McDreamy. I wanted to die of embarrassment! ..
