  17. Hi, I've decided to stick with the U.K. too, expensive but I would prefer to have surgery near to where I live incase of complications. I chose a surgeon who also worked doing the same surgery for the nhs locally, mainly as I know he'll be the nhs consultant should there be a problem! I don't know who does the nhs work local to you but that might be one avenue to explore, at least you know he or she will be experienced and undertaking the procedures regularly. Also, maybe look for a surgeon who also teaches bariatric surgery to others? I do wish I had the confidence to go abroad as it would save a lot of money, but I'm a worry wort. 21. Let's keep in touch. Do you have to lose the weight for insurance cover? I'm in the UK and things very different here. I'm probably gaining weight at the mo as I'm making the most of eating! Hope it goes well for you. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  22. Hi, how are you getting on?Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App I'm doing much better unfortunately I didn't do great the first few weeks I was sent back to the hospital twice for dehydration after I had the surgery but, the doctor said sometimes it happens and some people just need a little help in the beginning. My only suggestion to anyone is keep drinking all day even when you are not thirsty... as my doctor would say you must be a persistent sipper. Remeber if you have to choose between food and drinking always drink.AmbitiousGirl Glad to hear you're doing better, and thanks for the advise about Water. So sorry to hear you were so poorly early on. I'm worried how it'll be for me but everyone's experiences are so varied I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Hope you carry on improving and everything goes well now
  23. Thanks, kind of looking forward to starting it as I'm going wild with food at the mo, like its my last meal every meal! Good luck for the next week and a half. Do you feel ok about the op? I'm anxious but just want to do it now I've made the decision. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
