I can't gag down any of the shakes. Way to thick. I've tried Quest brand all flavors. vanilla by far is the worst for me, but I've never been a sweets type. I stick with the unflavored nectar and add it to broth or yogurt so far. I'm excited to try the fruit Nectar ones. I heard a lot of good things. Also unjury chicken has some good reviews. I have also tried the Adkins Lift protein drinks. It is the consistency of Water. I've tried orange and berry. Not bad at all. 20 grams if protein per 16 oz bottle. Not a particularly brand, no. Specifically says no Flintstones, Centrum or gummies ( forgot to add those) Highly recommends Celebrate and Bariatric Advance. I'd like to find one a little more affordable. I do however have a print out of the recommended daily values....at the risk if sounding foolish what does 200% of daily value mean for your Multivitamin? If we are all getting the same surgery...bypass, why are different Vitamins suggested by surgeons. For instance my surgeon specifically told me no Flintstones chewables or Centrum. IDK I'm just thinking we all need the same amount of vitamins after surgery... correct? I feel like I have to purchase the more costly ones from particular websites until I can swallow actual pills. As soon as I was told I had to quit I did. That was at my first NUT appointment. I surprised myself and just said that's it... I'm done. It was difficult but nothing was going to stop me from having this surgery. I was tested at my last NUT appointment which was 6 months later. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App

I'm pre op so I'm enjoying being able to drink full bottles of Water at a time. I know once I have surgery it will be sip sip sip. But with all this water 64+ oz. I have to pee every 15 minutes. I asked because I've been researching the benefits of bone broth and was going to start making my own. I saw some at the store and picked up a couple boxes. It was the worst tasting stuff ever. I just got out of a very similar situation. My husband was controlling and abusive. I got a protection order against him last month. He even went as far as tried to contest it. The judge of course upheld it. You can do it. I didn't even know how I would have gas in my car let alone pay my bills, but God provided. I am completely alone as well except for my son. We had recently moved to a new state....well 2 years ago and because he was so controlling I was not allowed friends. So I don't know anyone here. And I will be taking a taxi to and from the hospital. But I tell you it is the courageous thing I have ever done. And I'm so glad I did. Each day I remind myself the hell that has finally left my home and the peace that has taken its place. Only you know what is best but please listen when I tell you. It only gets worse honey. I'm pre op and I am scared to death of loosing a lot of hair. Ive been taking Vitamins and Biotin for 6 months and I've been keeping my Protein up. I've heard good things about Nixon shampoo and detachable shampoo, but haven't tried these yet. I've watched some pretty amazing YouTube videos to help hide the hair loss.
