  1. Thank you so much for sharing this part of your journey so openly! I'm still in the loosing stage, but am starting to think about what those end procedures might be to make everything'feel right'. Please keep us posted and best wishes for a continued healthy recovery! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  2. I stayed overnight. From what I understand most surgeons will have you stay one night as I'd there's a leak it will most likely present itself in those first 24hrs. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  3. Everything has been nice and smooth so far. *knock on wood * I'm very thankful for that! I have my 3 month follow up on the 11th (delayed because of holidays). I'm anxious to see what my blood work will show! How about you? Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hi Blondie! I'm also from the Houston area. I was sleeved 9/26. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  5. What a great idea! I'm not part of this club yet, but I'll be stalking! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  6. Great job making the hard changes already! You're going to do great with your new stomach helping! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  7. Everyone recovers differently, so I day if you feel good, give the walk a try, maybe shoot for a 30 min walk vs a distance and see how you feel. Congrats on making the changes to help get you healthy! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  8. Amazing! What a fabulous change! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  9. Do not let her ignorance or insecurity impact your decision! Every person is different. You have done your research and are setting yourself up for long term success. You are ready to say goodbye to bad habits Forever! She should be ashamed of herself for trying to hold you back from doing something for yourself! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  10. It really depends on the insurance and surgeon requirements. I saw my surgeon for the first time in July and had surgery end of Sept. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  11. Great job! I look forward to joining you in the near future! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  12. What is your eating schedule like? I get roughly 500-800 cal in. (Sleeved on 9/26) I have a Protein shake in the morning, then some sort of meat/cheese roll up for lunch, then whatever I make the family for dinner. The occasional snack here and there, but usually not. Soup has been my friend, especially chicken tortilla! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  13. I've been shopping in my own closet so far. Lol I'm about to the end of that though. My daughters closet is next. ..if she won't be scared for life that is. I really don't want to spend a lot on clothing I'm only going to wear for a month or two. I've been meaning to go to some resale shops, just haven't had time yet. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  14. I'm a bit over two months from mine and am down 3-4sizes. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  15. Just the phone charger, with extension, chapstick and slippers. I was told walking was the best thing to do to recover quickly and help move the gas out, so I did, a LOT. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  16. Stay calm and back away from the scale, it will drive you insane! Keep at it and it will move! Maybe try mixing up your routine, different Protein, different exercises etc. My cycle just played a huge role in my latest stall, so that could factor in as well. Try not to be discouraged and stay focused on getting healthy! You've got this! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  17. Thanks everyone! Setting a better example for my daughter is one odd my huge motivating factors! She had started going to see my trainer with me on the weekends and we've signed up for a 5k women's only obstacle course on April 8th. I would have NEVER considered doing that in my past. I'm loving the extra energy I have now. Even my daughter mentored this morning how much happier I am! Ron and autumn, I look forward to keeping up with you two! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  18. Congratulations on your success and the birth of your baby girl! As a mom, enjoy every minute, but take time for you daily as well. (Can't pour from an empty cup). That being said, i would focus on one change at a week. Like getting all your Water in this week, then next week add in 30 min of exercise everyday etc. I have no doubt you'll get the weight off again! I work from home, so know the temptations of food being right there! Keep yourself busy so you don't have time to snack. Cleaning, laundry, crafts, walks around the block. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  19. Thanks everyone! Autumn Fury, I have the same goal weight! Can't wait for us to get there! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  20. By no means am I at goal, but I'd you would have told me on Sept 26th that is be 50lbs lighter before Christmas, I would have told you that you're insane. Yet here i am! I have 60 more to go before I'm at goal, but for the first time in my life, I can see myself getting there. That's a lot to wrap my head around. The lowest weight I ever remember being is 186 in 6th grade. So pictures are worth 1000 words. The first pic was July 1st, two weeks before my first appt with the surgeon. The second was tonight. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  21. I've been getting the skinny comments as well. It feels great. I've only shared my surgery with a few close people. So my trainer is getting a lot of referrals! Lol Tonight I went to my daughters band concert, I didn't overflow my chair. ... such a happy moment. On another note, I think my husband is starting to feel some sort of way about all this. He's roughly 360lbs, 6'. He's started talking about having the sleeve as well. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  22. Great job! Fitting in smaller clothes is better than Christmas cookies! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  23. My surgeon didn't request any preop diet. I'm definitely in the minority! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  24. Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in you all! Seems like I've found my happy grove. Just taking it a day at a time. It's been 2 months and 4 days since my surgery. 48 lbs gone forever! I was a bit nervous how the carbs I ate over thanksgiving would affect me, but I kept things minimal. My three month check up is the Tuesday after Christmas. I would love to have it read a total of 60lbs lost by then. I've also signed up for a5k obstacle course in April. My daughter (who is 12 and now weighs more than me) is going to do it with me. We're both working with a trainer. Trying to lead by example- and so thankful she's choosing to follow! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
  25. You all look fantastic! You've put in the hard work, made the hard changes and are now reaping the rewards! Very proud of each and every one of you! Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
