  1. I got the Lapband on April 10, 2008 and my husband had gastric bypass on April 21, 2008. I joined LA Weightloss back in November 2007 to lose my required weight pre surgery (which was only 13 pounds) and dropped 55 pounds before my surgery. I would look into that being you want to get pregnant. It really works! I still went with my band to use as a tool to help get the rest off and to keep it off. You can do it by eating the right foods and exercising! Then after having kids you can consider it. Good luck! Take care. -Dawn (Minnesota):crying:
  2. You can and WILL do it! I love my treadmill! I'm up to an hour a day. I prop my laptop on it and it makes the time fly by! You just have to get a little cordination?! I had surgery April 10th and I'm down a total of 96 pounds! That's 55 pre surgery plus another 41 since surgery! Just stay focused! Good luck and keep me posted! Take care. -Dawn (Minnesota)
  3. :thumbs_up:I'm from Lino Lakes and had my band put on April 10, 2008. I've lost a total of 93 pounds! Well....that was 55 pre surgery and 38 since surgery. I started last November to lose weight and change my bad eating habits and lack of exercise. You are making a GREAT decision! Good luck to you! Just have a positive attitude and you will succeed!! Keep me posted! I'm excited for you! -Dawn :biggrin2:
  4. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm on vacation and my son called me crying yesterday because he backed over our 19 year old cat. That's such a horrifying thing. My heart goes out to you -Dawn (Minnesota)
  5. You have to be patient!! It's a tool not a miracle fat killer! You have to eat healthy and exercise daily! Your mom is right.......it takes time. It's not going to make you skinny by itself, you have to work at it!!! If you are determined it will work!! Good luck!! -Dawn
  6. :smile:Dust that treadmill off and hop on! I do my tready 30-45 minutes a day! I prop my laptop up and go to town! The time flies by! It takes a little cordination though. Exercise is the key. Once you get into a routine it comes easy! Think positive and go for it! Good luck. -Dawn (Minnesota):tongue2:
  7. In the mornings I always drink a couple glasses of water to open the band to take medicine or before food. It opens the band so your pills or food passes thru easier! -Dawn (Minnesota) :incazzato:
  8. My grocery bill is gone! I have the Lapband and my husband had gastric bypass. It is wonderful!! I buy frozen fruit so it lasts and it's so yummy! I have 2 adult children still living at home because of the crappy economy, but they buy their own food!! -Dawn (Minnesota)
  9. I would try LA Weightloss first. I did for my pre surgery weightloss and lost 55 pounds in 5 months! I still had the Lapband surgery (April 10th, 2008) to help me with the rest and to be my tool to keep it off! You don't have much to lose so just try diet & exercise! Normally they won't even consider surgery unless you're 100 lbs over weight or have serious health problems. Good luck! -Dawn (Minnesota)
  10. List: Name: Dawn (Minnesota) Date you were banded: April 10,2008 Weight loss to date: Dropped 55 pre surgery and another 25 post surgery (80 pounds!) How are you feeling? WONDERFUL! Healthier!
  11. I had my surgery on April 10th. I had 6 holes. That's not unusual. Once they heal up you won't even know they are there! Good luck! -Dawn (Minnesota)
  12. I had my lapband surgery last Thursday the 10th. Stayed over one night in the hospital and was back to work today-Monday (14th)!! Piece of cake! No pain meds for me. Everyone is different tho. I had no pain and my incisions don't really hurt that bad. Good luck to you! Stay strong and have a positive attitude! Keep me posted! Take care. -Dawn :-)
  13. That should be fine! I drink Unjury chocolate shake in the morning and Unjury Chicken soup flavor in the evening. That's good stuff and 20g of protein per shake so you get 41g (chicken has 21g) total for the day. I had my surgery last Thursday and everything went great! No pain meds for me either. Good luck to you and keep me posted! -Dawn
