  1. I wish I had a date too! I have 1 more NUT appt, then who knows the next step....it all should be coming together soon!
  2. I'm in the Milwaukee area too. Using Dr Rydlewicz
  3. Thank you!! It's hard to talk about being overweight. It's the one thing I try to never talk about.
  4. Yes! I'm eating things here and there over the next couple months that I just want to indulge in.
  5. Ugh. That's the first word that comes to mind after today. All was fine when I started talking, and then she asked about how my journey started of being overweight....I just broke down. I said I've been overweight since the 5th grade. I didn't have a bad childhood or anything it felt like over summer vacation I suddenly gained weight. But just as I started talking about myself and my struggles and being overweight I just started to cry. Anyone else have this experience?
  6. I have Cigna insurance and am on my second month of the supervised diet....Well I meet with the NUT tomorrow for the second time and my phy visit. My NUT said on my first visit that Cigna doesn't require any weight loss. But, we were told at the initial bariatric seminar that we aren't allowed to gain weight during the pre-op diet or we would be dropped from the program because they know that most insurance companies will 99% of the time deny you.
  7. Was the therapist something you started doing during the pre-open phase?
  8. You are inspirational. Good luck to you.
  9. Thank you! I plan on being diligent for life.
  10. I've certainly heard that before; easy way out. It's so annoying and frustrating!
  11. I'm new here. I haven't had surgery but have started the process and already met with some nutritionist. I've been reading a lot about sleevers who have needed resetting and get back on track. I'm wondering if they're any seasoned sleevers out there who have kept the weight off for years.
  12. My nutritionist recommended I use myfitnesspal to track food so we can go over it at our appointments and in some cases insurance wants to see it.
  13. I don't have a date yet, but am on my first month of a 3 month diet. I'm sorry you're having to wait even longer. I can't wait for this new life to begin already! I know how you feel.
  14. Have you gone to the seminar yet? I met my surgeon there, then had the consult. I pretty much picked out which surgery I wanted and he agreed. It was about a 15 minute appointment. The questions I had were more about the unknowns of the nutritionist and psychology appt. One thing I did ask was when would be the next time I'd see him, and he said about 2 months when I'm almost done with the supervised diet (3 month diet requirement). Then he'd have more tests for me to prep for surgery. You might just want to make sure you have a good understanding of the process as he's explaining it. Good luck and bring a notebook to document this journey! I started a binder. ???? 5'7" CW: 260. GW: 140.
  15. Thank you! When was your surgery?
  16. Wow! Great idea. Love the sex goals idea.
  17. Thank you everyone. Is this under FMLA? I can only take 2 weeks vacation at a time. I have a desk job, but it is stressful.
  18. I've just started my 3 month supervised diet. Getting ready for sleeve surgery. I'm wondering how much time did everyone take off work. Sent from my KFSAWI using the BariatricPal App
