  1. All I have is a beef bone broth/beef broth mix. I am going to find ways to make this clear liquid diet more exciting sent from my rotary phone surgery date: 11/2/2016
  2. Not just buddies, though. I'd love to find some mentors and just make some general contacts within the forum. I've been on it all day reading all that I can. This is such a fantastic resource!
  3. The straw that broke my back was sitting around a fire with my brothers and dad listening to them try to guess my weight (out of the blue), and giving me all kinds of weight loss advice, including "Don't do the surgery stuff....that's the easy way out". Mind you, they could all benefit from the adivce they gave me as well as from bariatric surgery. That was my straw. And seeing my weight as close to 400 as I ever ever ever wanted to see it (392).
  4. I'm just curious. I'm 6 days post o.o and I don't believe my scale. sent from my rotary phone
  5. I am 6 days post op and have similar issues. My dr told my to make sure I'm not lying flat. So I've been sleeping on the couch making sure I'm well propped up. She also has me on prilosec for Gerd. Talk to your doc. I'm sure he/she can prescribe something. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  6. I had the sleeve done almost a week ago. I chose it because I have significant scarring and lesions from endometriosis. The Dr said, for me, the sleeve would have less potential complications since I have fewer lesions in my stomach. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  7. West Michigan Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  8. Don't be disappointed if recovery is more difficult than expected. It's not easy....but it will be worth it! I'm 6 days post op. It's been a little rough some days and easier other days. The day after surgery was the most difficult for me. Don't be afraid to accept or ask for help. Good luck!!! Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  9. You can do this! Don't panic and don't beat yourself up. People say "tomorrow is a new day to start over" they're wrong. Every single minute is a new start. Drink tons of Water. Replace meals with Protein shakes. Walk 30 minutes a day, even it's in smaller intervals. You can do this! Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  10. Thank you for your replies. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  11. That's fantastic! Congrats Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  12. "That's the easy way out!" yes...so easy to have someone cut me open and remove 85% of my stomach. Recovery is a breeze and now I sit and watch tv while the weight falls off. (hope you all read the sarcasm there!) Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  13. You got this! Sending good vibes! Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  14. I'm new! I had surgery Nov 2. I'm having a really hard day. But.....I come and look at everyone's before and after pictures for inspiration, even before surgery. I look forward to sharing my pics once I have an "after" to show
