  1. Pre-op appointment tomorrow and surgery in ONE WEEK. EEK! The nerves are setting in.
  2. Pre-op appointment tomorrow and surgery in ONE WEEK. EEK! The nerves are setting in.
  3. One word... Ulcer. My surgeon said its not a matter of if but when for bypass patients who smoke. I know how hard it is, I had to quit too but I know we can do it! Don't listen to your addict brain, listen to the rational side. Good luck!
  4. The problem is that they will not be forthcoming. If she would have just said that "YES, they had a death, however blah blah blah risk is associated with surgery and here are all of the steps we take to ensure this is not a common occurrence" there would be an argument. This is basic PR that they are failing at and there has to be a reason for this over reaction and poor handling of communication from them after. They are dodging, hiding, and being defensive. I personally do not support surgery tourism at all, for this very reason. This place is shady and should be avoided at all costs. They need to own up to what happened and provide answers.
  5. You literally created this profile an hour ago to try and damage control. Seriously, I've never seen anyone try and cover something up as badly as you all are right now. Stay far away from these people, folks.
  6. Another dodge. It's a simple question, was here a death or not? The immediate attack was clue enough for me. There is no way a reputable center would refuse to answer a question on a forum no matter who owns it. It either happened, or it didn't. Pony up and answer if you ever want people using your facility. This is just sad.
  7. Don't do anything you're uncomfortable with! I hope some sleeve PCOSers will chime in and give you some advice!
  8. I want to buddy up! I'm May 1st too [emoji3] getting so close
  9. You too! I meant to say top 2 reasons. It's been a long day [emoji12] I really hope your surgeon can help you make the right choice! If you don't mind me asking, how much do you have to lose? I work also consider that as well. If you have a high BMI That could also help choose.
  10. Hi there! PCOS and insulin resistance are the number one reason my surgeon recommended bypass for me over the sleeve. I would talk to your doc and see what they have to say! Put the whole "re rout" thing out of your mind and really look at which option is best for you. Good luck on May 8th regardless, I'm sure you'll be successful either way [emoji4]
  11. Super Horrid. Last night I dreamt my hair was CRAWLING with lice. So random... I never remember my dreams so it has to be stress related or something.
  12. I had a dream last night that I over ate and was worried about the staples. Horrible!
  13. Only 2 more weekends! I love that I'm scheduled on May Day. It's like a new beginning and I'll never forget my date. What are you all doing to prep? Im getting so excited (and nervous!) T-14 days left [emoji15]
  14. Love all these May dates!!! I can't wait until we're all on the losers bench [emoji4]
  15. You can do it! I'm 8 months smoke free and love it! Smoking is not worth jeopardizing your surgery.
  16. My insurance only approve the procedure for a 3 month window. The pre-op check (x-ray and cardio gram) have to be within 30 days. In sure each is different but that was my timeframe
  17. I hope someone can muster more sympathy than me. I know you're scared. I hope someone who has gone through this will chime in.
  18. I also would assess your relationship and get counseling before any of this happens. I can't imagine not wanting my husband to get healthy and live a longer and more active life. I'm also not trying to be cruel, but this seems like an issue you need to work on for yourself. Not wanting him to vulnerable? I don't understand. I wish you both the best and hope you're able to work out the underlying issues that are causing this reaction. Best of luck!
  19. So exciting, Bekah! How are you feeling so far? I just want to hit the fast forward. I'm just working in my short term disability claim now and that is about it until my pre-op testing. I'm so happy to have a may 1st buddy
  20. Mine is May 1st! I'm glad we have some other may folks here. We should keep In Touch.
  21. I'm May 1st. I will have to go for pre-op testing the week prior to that. It took me a year to get here, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. Every morning I wake up excited for the date!
  22. When the lady called me to tell me I was approved and schedule a surgery date I literally said "I'm regretting all of my life choices up to this point." She started laughing. I just kept saying "wow" and also felt like ralphing. I feel better now that I went to the pre-op class. Super excited for you!!!
  23. I'm not doubting your choice, I've considered many different options. WLS is not a one size fits all situation! Honestly, I'm just shocked that they charge that much. I wish it was covered for you.
  24. My insurance approved for a 3 month window, and the surgeons office called and gave me a choice of dates and time slots. My surgeon only operates on certain days, so as long as it was one of those days and someone was not already booked I had free pick. Hope this helps!
