Hey BigRick.... Right there with you! Got the word friday that all was approved and to WAIT for her to call me with a date. Yuck! However, I'm only giving her until tomorrow afternoon and then I'm calling her even if I have to make something up!

I don't have any experience with this but in my opinion I wouldn't think it would hurt anything. It is common for persons with high anxiety levels to experience moer anxiety when considering/preparing for upcoming surgery. I say DON'T SWEAT IT! :wink2: Besides that, he knows what they will and won't pay for and I am sure they wouldn't do anything to jeopardize you being approved for the surgery.

Sounds like you're doing great, SBG! In our preop class, she said it was normal for the lungs to deflate a little at the bases due to the anesthesia. Did they give you any kind of incentive spirometry to do at home? If not, then I would just concentrate on taking deep breaths throughout the day to get those lungs inflated back up.

Hi Kiki! It's good to see you around again -- hope you're feeling all better. As far as the exercise, I would suggest not trying to jump right back into it.. start slow and pick out a couple of days or maybe 10-15 minutes a day and then build from there. I often find when I try to jump into a routine all the way and with everything, I often bite off more than I can chew (or want to chew, anyway). KWIM? :tt2: You can do it! :wink2:

I think it would be okay to have 2 group names and fully intend on using the Shrinko de Mayo -- it is just TOO CUTE not to!! Lexy has come up with an awesome logo. Lexy, that is sooo... cute! I haven't had a chance to work on anything because I have been doing my real JOB work all weekend! I think we need a sombrero with a flower on it, though, to tie us all together!

I would definitely call! If I hadn't called yesterday, it probably wouldn't have been filed yesterday -- but I called, then she did it, and I was!

Alright, for those who weren't crazy about May Flowers or who just, like me, absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE whoever came up with "Shrinko de Mayo", I wanted to come up with a logo for us. Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to work on it today and see what I can come up with but would love some ideas from you other talented folks!

DEFINITELY don't wait. I am the same way...don't want to make anyone mad but... EXAMPLE: My surgery coordinator told me we would know something by Friday. I waited as long as I could and finally called about 10 a.m. yesterday. I asked if we had heard anything yet. She said no, that she had not had time to file it yet but would do it in the afternoon. Well, I was crushed but said okay. I got off the phone and called DH and he said, well did you ask if she would call you this afternoon to let you know (she said in our 1st interview that it takes 5 minutes to get an answer). So, I called back about 1 p.m. and told her I didn't want to be a pest but would we have an answer this afternoon after she filed. Now HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART: She said, I went ahead and filed it after you called me this morning and they have approved it! :tongue2: So, see, calling helps! :w00t:

Watchout, Try one of the 1st few listings on the forum page (can't get there right now to see what they are called) or put "ticker" in the search field and it should bring up detailed directions. That was the way I found out how to do mine. Also, very limited directions but there should be an html field where you created your ticker and if you click on it and then paste it into your profile field, it should show up for you. :w00t: Good luck!

Thanks Di4AU! Actually, I'm positive it will be in May. She said it only takes 2 to 3 weeks to get scheduled and that is really just because he wants me on the preop diet that long -- which, I notice you seem to be doing a great job on yours! :w00t: Anyway, we would have scheduled yesterday but he has to sign off on my chart or something like that so she said she would call Monday or Tuesday! However, I'm going with Shrinko de Mayo's! Isn't that cute?? Some of the May 5th girls came up with it and I think it is PRECIOUS! BTW, I thought I would literally go INSANE waiting on LBT to come back up. Longest 15-30 minutes (yeah right) :sleep: of my life! Unfortunately, I'm not sure all the glitches are out yet. When I click on forums it takes me to a page that says it isn't working. Oh, well, glitches or not, glad it's back up!! :tongue2:

amsderb, For the apron, I actually use a tube sock. It is the perfect length and you just lay it right in the crease. It stays put until you take it out. Seems silly, I know, but all these other things can get costly over time. I honestly never get a rash unless the sock shifts and I don't know it. I like the sound of the liquid baby powder, though! Well, I wasn't sure where to put this post and then thought that GRRrrr... seems to sum it all up! :rolleyes2: No word from the surgeon's office today. I guess it would really be too early to hear anything yet but I am on pins and needles. DH tells me, now if they say no, don't cry because it's not no, it's just not now...and it's not never, it's just when. What a sweet guy! :cry_smile: HOWEVER, I am going insane with the wait. Not only that but I started on the preop diet today (like she told me to) and we had no food in the house. DH won't let me go to the grocery store until tomorrow so I scraped by -- although barely. Was a little irritable but not too bad.. didn't have the desire to really cheat. In fact, (patting myself on the back) DD made mashed potatoes with our supper and forgot to leave the butter out of mine so I made a baked potato and used FF dressing on it. Back in the day, I would have said, it's just a little butter.. what could it hurt? But I kept with it. Got in 6 glasses of Water today AND not a single coke. :confused: You know when it hit me, though... when I got up to go to work. I work from home and start work at 11 p.m. Hadn't realized until now how hard the little "wake up" snacking was going to be. I am going to have to come up with something for that. Is anyone else that way? Like, everytime I wake up from a nap or sleep (other than 1st thing in the morning) I want something sweet to eat. Probably just a habit more than anything. First time all day, though, that I had momentary panic of not being able to eat. Alright, I guess I'll get to work now. I just wanted to work through this 1st mini-crisis and have you all praying that maybe I'll get the phone call tomorrow. What a TGIF that would be! :tt1:

Just my opinion but I liken it to the question everyone gets when they're pregnant... you know the one(s): 1. When are you due? 2. Girl or boy? OR my personal favorite (NOT): 3. Are you sure you're going to make it that long?? Most of the time, I think it is just a way to make conversation. However, since you don't have the option of it ending after 9 months, I would do like Lanie said and come up with a way to diffuse it. I thought she had a GREAT suggestion! :redface:
