The punch tastes like punch with Vitamins....I haven't tried the grape or pinapple. One of the banders told me that apple was good.

I will be on protein shakes for two weeks after two days of clear liquids. If you are on clear liquids for two weeks try the Isopure . I bought a few bottles for after surgery and they have 40g of protein.....comes in several flavors. They also have the powder, but I didn't want to invest that much money in it. You can get it at GNC.

Girl, that is an awesome weight loss in a month. CONGRATS! I hope I can see that in a month. I am ready!

This is my last day of Protein shakes. I guess it gets a little easier....I have no energy. Tomorrow is Clear Liquids and then surgery.....then two more weeks of Protein Shakes. I thought I would have lost more than 7lbs. Oh well, it will all be worth it. So, hang in there!:smile2:

long, don't beat yourself up over today......just get back on the bandwagon tomorrow. It happens. Old habits die hard. Hey, I have been on that liquid diet.....and I won't lie....I ate 3oz of tuna today. It was 90cal. So I skipped one of my shakes. We all need each other for support. When you get a fill it will be different. Please tell me I won't be this hungry after I am banded. I am just glad I opted for banding and not the Optifast Diet the doctor offered. :biggrin: By the way, I bought several bottles of Isopure for after surgery. Did any of you drink Gatorade? My son lived on that stuff for a few days after surgery. Another thing....where is Indiogirl? I haven't seen a post in a few days.

Yeah, excuse my ignorance....but what is the purpose for a pouch test? Is it to get back on track?

My son had lap-band and my daughter in-law had gastric bypass. They both lost 120lbs in a year. My son quit getting fills and gained half of his weight back and my daughter -in-law has maintained her loss. The difference I see is with lap-band you have to maintain it with fills. Both required eating right and exercising. They are both tools.....one is more permanent than the other. I personally don't like the risk of losing so many nutrients with bypass. I am too old to suffer bone loss or memory loss. I don't know what the stats are on that.....it is just how I feel about it. So, on Wednesday I will get my band.

Glad you found a bike that will work for you. CONGRATS! on losing to the 40 mark. One of my best friends is also having bypass while I have lap-band. I am confident I made the right chose for me. I hope to be able to say I have dropped 40 after 5 weeks.....quite an accomplishment! Keep on keeping on!

Hey, I am in Pearland. My surgery date is the July 16th. I am on the fifties forum most of the time. I have been on a liquid diet for a week now and I HATE it. :redface: One more week, then surgery, then liquid for two more weeks. I will need support then. You will be hearing from me.

Phyllser, my bone doctor said the same to me about lap band surgery....he wanted me to get gastric bypass because I won't lose enough weight to help my back. Then I went back Dr. Garth Davis and asked him about the lap band surgery and he said as long as I ate right and exercised I should do well on the lap band. So, you see, we just have to prove them wrong. Also there are alot of orthopedics that replace knees on obese people. My husband weighed over 300 when he had both of his knees replaced.

Congrats! on reaching your new milestone. You and I are almost the same in weight and goal. That gives me hope. So, I will be watching your progress. I am surprised you can eat nuggets and fries. My son was unable to eat fries. Oh well, I need to stay away from that stuff. I think my problem with shakes too is... I hate milkshakes!:party: I am trying to doctor them up with sugar free syrups that go in lattes. Only one more week.....I can do it! I got on my Wii Fit today for the first time.:scared2: Geez, after trying to balance, it said I was 12 years older than my age. I have alot of work ahead of me. I didn't do this damage overnight. It will take awhile, but I am up for the challenge.:smile:

Just venting......I HATE THIS liquid DIET! I go to bed at ten or eleven and wake up every morning at 3am. And to top that off I have only lost three lbs in a week. What's up with that? Yeah, I have had a couple of boiled eggs and a few slices of FF lean meat, but come on. :thumbup: Okay, got that out of my system....gonna go make a Protein Shake.

Thanks for the info. My surgery is on the sixteenth of July. I went to pre-op and signed a paper stating that I understood that weight loss would be up to fifty or sixty per cent. It is only a tool. What we do with it determines our outcome. My son lost 120lbs in a year and then his dr retired and he did not go get a fill. He has gained back 60lb. Now he has found a new doctor and is back on track. I just don't want to get off track and fall off the "bandwagon". I am so thankful for LBT support group.
